Is there some things the wiser ones here can point out that I need to look for when breaking?

Example being that I notice sometimes that I need to take some off my break in order to make the balls ( so they stop overshooting the pockets ).

I mean is there anything to look for when watching how they bust?

paksat...Get Joe Tucker's "Racking Secrets" dvd...invaluable info, and worth every penny! I agree with taking some speed off your break, for better CB control. Also, develop a normal swing, not the super-wild swings that you see some players do. Archer can get away with it...most of us aren't as talented, and don't have as good of timing, as him! :D

Tables break differently, and individual tables can break differently depending on the atmospheric conditions too. You need to experiment on THAT table to see what it likes. Some like a hard break, some like a soft break. Some are set so that the wing ball goes easily, some you should break from the side etc etc etc.
