I looked up instructors on BCA's site and found a few, but cant find any feedback on them.
Does anyone have any positive or negative feedback on the instructors available, or one not listed that is somewhat close?

Here is a list of those the site listed.

I only know of David Baranski and Steve Jennings - both are very good teachers - you can't go wrong by choosing either of them.

Wade Crane is also around. You can call Brass Tap. Technically, though, you can't beat Baranski. Steve Lee is a pretty good fundamentalist, also. PM me. I'd be glad to work with you to evaluate and help. I'd do it for free. I'm not certified or anything, I just love the game. Those guys will tell you, too, I don't hit'em that bad.

Phidget,
If you want someone local, David is your guy. If you are willing to come to Charlotte for a weekend, I'd be glad to talk to you about setting up some lessons.
Steve Jennings

Mike Davis is living somewhere in North Carolina (I want to say Charlotte). You could try taking a lesson from him. He's extremely knowledgable.

Lessons

Steve Lee and his lovely wife Shirley are running a pool school this weekend at Babineau's. Steve is the lead instructor but Shirley adds a lot of class to the school especially for the women.

David Baranski assists Steve for large classes and also will provide private instruction. Can't miss with David or Steve Lee.

In the Charlotte area Steve Jennings would be a good choice.

Both of those guys are class acts.

Baranski, Jennings, and Lee are all great guys. I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. I've never met the others on your list.

Phidget...I helped train David Baranski and John Sherlock. They participated in a pool school with Steve Jennings, Randyg, and myself. If you want someone in Raleigh, you cannot go wrong with David. Steve is an excellent instructor too, but over in Charlotte. John Sherlock is over in Asheville, for anyone in that area. I don't know any of the other instructors.

Thanks for all the feedback. ILl contact those suggested and see what I can get worked out. I also appreciate the free offers for assistnace, but the Mrs wants to buy me a birthday present and i couldnt think of anything better than some true training. I am progressing nicely, but i believe this could speed the process and save me some headaches.

See what you miss when you're recovering from rotator cuff surgery....

Just want to thank everyone (Keith, David, Paul, Scott, Brandon, Shane, Steve)for the kind words. If Phidget is who I think he is, I'll be working with him some time next week, if we ever stop playing phone tag.

Just for the future, if anyone does a search for Raleigh area instructors on AZ and they run across this thread, there's more about Steve and Shirley Lee and me and the Raleigh Billiard Academy at http://www.raleighbilliardacademy.com. Steve went to Tom Simpson in Ohio for his Recognized certification, and became Certified through Randy's school in Texas. Shirley became Recognized by attending Cue-Tech as well. I attended Cue-Tech's "road show" (starring Randy G., Scott Lee, and Steve Jennings) in Charlotte a couple of years ago to become Recognized, although I've been giving lessons for quite some time now.

BTW, Shane, shame on you! John Sherlock was in your class in Charlotte....
