Looking for forward balanced production Q

Hi,

after swapping some gear this year I am finally able to settle down on the cue I want. For me the most important aspect of the cue is balance point.

I found the optimal one to be ~20-21 inches from the butt in 18oz weight, so I prefer more forward balanced cues, while the majority of the production ones are the opposite (Mcdermotts, Mezz, OB).

Now I am playing steel collared 17oz Mcdermott who has the balance right, but it is too light for my taste (and if I add some weight, it will become rear balanced too much).

Could you advise me some cue brand which has:

- universal joint (prefered radial, 3/8x10 or 5/16x14, no unilock)
- ss collar
- forward balance at around 20-21 in
- 18-18,5 oz weight.

So far I consider Schon or Joss, but I don't know anything about their balance so far.

Thanks in advance for replies.

I have a Joss N-7 that is weighted nice but I usually use an ss360 shaft on it which tips the balance point rear ward. With the stock shaft its more balanced. Have you considered having a shaft made for the cue you purchase? Or screwing the weight bolt in further to adjust the weight forward more?

- forward balance

Check out NOVA cues they are - forward balance cues also great cues to begin with. There are some on ebay. They are not cheap..

Call JOSS. They are fairly forward balanced.

A light JOSS (light weight bolt or no weight bolt) with a 4.2 or 4.3 ounce shaft will probably get you where you want.

They don't have to have a weight bolt to hold the bumper on so you can go with no weight bolt if you like.

I was thinking about this cue:

What is the usuall Joss balance point on 18oz weight (or 19) ?

I don't know. I can tell you that my JOSS cues seem to be all around 19 1/4 or so at the balance point...maybe 19 1/2.

Less weight bolt weight and more shaft weight will shift that balance point more forward.

That's why I was saying to call JOSS. Get it from the horse's mouth as they say. Tell them what you want and see if they can put it together off the shelf or make it.

All of the Pechauer cues are forward balanced and will outshoot most other cues. check out their website and read about them. I have three of their cues. They are great. Go shoot with one and see what you think.

I also have 5 Schon cues which are hard to beat.

Good luck
