Looking for Mason's Micarta rod or ferrules

Dale,
You may know Westinghouse material, (and I do not), but I do know Schon material. For you to tell me the Schon stuff does not turn yellow all the way through is wrong. I have my doubts that you actually have any 25 year old Schon material in your possession like I do. I just went and scraped deep into one of those ferrules and it was only slightly lighter in yellow color deeper in.

Would you care to bet your house on it?

The material I have came from Schon - who got it from Westinghouse.

Have a nice day.

Dale(2014 - 1976 = 38 years, but who's counting)

If you have one of their 80s and not early 90s stuff. Scrape it and see if it is not pretty yellow all the way through. They switched to that type of stuff Atlas had for a while then went to melamine.

I think PD is going back before that time .
The Schon ferrules I have are yellow from the get go and are not the Westinghouse variety.
I have no clue why Schon stopped using that ferrule . It was a great ferrule ( if you don't mind the color ). Must have been cost cutting move.

I can piss farther than you...

<~~and yellower...

When Cliff Joiner first came on the seen about 25 years ago he came to Atlanta with his backers and those guys would bet on anything. One of them bet he could stand on one side of the dumpster behind the Wagon Wheel and pee across it without one drop landing in the dumpster. I did not go out to watch, but heard he won the bet. Moral of the story is you might not want to bet on that if you pass through Raleigh, NC. :)

I bought some 4 foot rods from Barringer and the 6 to 8 inches on each end are much lighter in color, almost white and then get slightly more yellow as they blend inwards towards the center of the rods. I asked him and he said that's the way they are manufactured and all come in. Overall a very nice product and I charge more for the more whiter ones. good deal.

To set the record straight - the "Mason" micarta is nonsense. He may have been the first to handle it but others have now taken the lead. The stuff is available from Norplex for anyone wanting to buy it, can afford their minimum order and knows what to order. Hightower and myself are the only two known sources to carry it for a reasonable price.

Mason was selling it for substantially more until we undercut him whereby causing the profitability to scale downwards since we are selling so much more of it and have it readily available for sale whereas he did not.

Mason was selling it for:
the tube was $100 per 3 feet or $50 per foot
the rod was $115 for 3 feet or $55 per foot.

Those prices were out of sight! If you check current pricing you'll notice it is being sold for considerably less.

I purchased some yellow Westinghouse micarta from Joe and it plays great. Much cheaper than some people here offer it.
Thank you Joe.
