I'm not saying it is but it looks like std. Atlas that's been sitting around for a while. If you were to cut the skin, it would be as light in color as the fresh stuff. Natural phenolic darkens with age & exposure to light.

looks like Mahogany to me.natural is lighter.

Thats NOT the new mahogany Atlas offers. Its just the standard natural that has like KJ said, darkened over time. The old stuff was still a shade or 2 darker when new compared to the current offering. There is plenty of that old dark stuff around....but that damn Kenny Koo owns 99% of it.:D

ONLY 90%:D

Thanks for the offer Mr. Sly and if I ever make another shaft for the old Nemek cue I'll hollar at you for a 1/2 inch piece of the joint material, and if I find any of the butt size I'll also let you know. Thanks again--Leonard

phenolic

I just dug around and all I have is Joint size. Never bought any of the butt size. I have some odd looking stuff with a big weave not the same color though. Sorry and good luck....

John

Truthfully, I like the newer butterscotch colored Natural Phenolic better than the older color. The only problem occurs, for me anyway, is in doing repairs. The older stuff is needed to match what is already present on the cue. Atlas's new Mahogany colored Phenolic doesn't match any of the older phenolics and I don't particularly like it for a new present day cue.
