Looking for opinions on particular Andy Gilbert...

Could someone give me a Blue Book value (or just an opinion of value if you've got one) on this Andy Gilbert?

Said to be in practically mint condition. Half ivory joint w/ 2 shafts (12.95mm & 12.99mm). Not sure if it has ivory ferrules or not, or what tips it has, so don't consider those. 19.3oz with one shaft and 19oz with the other (which is not a good thing in my eyes)...

Thanks!
- Joaquin.

...for the $$, there also happens to be an ebony Gilbert J/B on eBay. The same hit for 1/4 the price...

Or you could buy 'em both and be just like me. Well, in cues anyway.

The chances of it having ivory ferrules are pretty slim since Andy doesn't like them and he tries to talk people out of getting them.

Gilbert - Cocobolo 6 pt hi and lo, SW style

Sorry don't have access to Blue Book but FWIW I ordered an identical cue to the one pictured in late 2005. Only difference was mine was with a leather wrap & veneers were slightly different color combo. Cost was right at $900 delivered - I thought that very reasonable.

It was absolutely beautifully made and played great! Don't think ivory ferrules were an option. Andy suggested melamine, which was fine with me. Tried to upload pictures but the file size is too large.

Wish I'd kept it / can't own'em all!

here's Jigger's cue...

Thanks alot Steev---

Clarification:
My own cue was modeled after this 2002 version. Wish my pics came out this great. Checked with the current owner, it's for sale now for $975 and in 99% condition. Two shafts with melamine ferrules, 12.75mm talisman medium tips.

Don't think that's the case since he just finished 3 fancy ivory handled cues in the last year. He's delivering the last one at Valley Forge. Hopefully folks will get to see it there....it's sick just how awesome this latest one is.

Prices I've heard mentioned in this thread are pretty much dead on. He's had two price increases in the last couple of years, so prior to that $900-$950 would have been the number with the ivory joint. It's $1100 right now for the cue (new from Andy) that Joaquin inquired about.

Andy just doesn't like the play of ivory ferrules. He'll do them, but you have to twist his arm a little (and of course the extra $$).....I know we have before.

Did you also happen to ask him for Moori tips? He loves those too.:)

The only thing he told me when I asked for a Moori Q on my second shaft for my J/B was that he didn't think that they jump the ball very well.

For some reason Andy is a big fan of Water Buffalo tips (at the time his selection was minimal). Not sure why cause they are like little pads of seasoned concrete. Had to replace one tip with a Talisman Medium just to have an idea of the real hit and feel.:)
