Hello everyone. We have had our site at OTR for nearly a year now. We felt it was time to freshen up some my partner Steve started making a new site for us and it is almost 100%. We made it so you can go to full screen as before you could not along with under the chat a dimmer button that dims the whole page and pops out the viewing screen. Tell us how you like the new site at www.ontherailtv.com .

The wordpress site will give you much more freedom and room for expansion as well as make it much easier to modify the appearance because the content is separate... With that said it doesn't even matter how the site looks... using the wp CMS is the obvious better choice.

anywho... looks good!
 
also... how far have you gotten? I like Drupal because of the clean url feature (instead of .../?page_id=203 for "Contact Us it'd read like an html link such as .../contact-us). Something to look into :)

I like the new one much better, cleaner, more readable. The old one tied up my system for minutes, then bombed out my browser (Flock - firefox engine), and I had to restart the browser.
 
My only big criticism is the font. It's far too big, and it's incredibly jagged looking, especially in the header (in the main area), and subheadings (at the bottom of the page). Other than that, you're heading in the right direction.

I like the new one...

The new one has a much cleaner, more professional look, and isn't an eyesore like the old one.

One nitpick..the blue bar before the heading "Home" is a bit out of place...if you're going to have the bar there, I'd pick some sort of gray or black to go along with the rest of the site.

To whoever said that you can't do nice URLs with wordpress, they are wrong, look into a plugin that provides search engine friendly urls. Been too long since I worked with wordpress or I'd link you directly to one, but I know they exist and are pretty easy to integrate.
 
Thanks for the feedback, my partner Steve is responsible for building the site and has done a great job. I do believe this one looks cleaner and more professional. We will be putting the finishing touches on it and adding new videos to the library along with making the site searchable. :smile:

Yes, there is a setting for this and i did change it. now it has the page name instead of an id number. THanks

Hey Lenny, I think the new site is awesome. Love the top part of the new site, just needs a fireplace. It is very clean and clutter free, easier on the ole eyeballs and easier to navigate around. Keep up the good work. See ya Tuesday. Ron:thumbup:
 
Never been here until now. The site looks good, it has many great apeals to it. Took a moment to load and I have Hi-Speed. I think it was just due to the video. There is nothing that is really a turn off. I like all that I see!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, there is list posted on our site with all the feedback we have got. Tonight did not go off without a hitch as we had some trouble but overall it was fixed quickly and it seemed like many had a good time and liked the new site. Thanks again everyone! ;)
