Rain-Man,
I especially like the way you handled the people whose screen names you do not know.

Gene, thanks for adding to the validity of this cause.

Everyone else who donated, THANKS!

I cant keep up with you guys.. 3 more great donations just came in..:)

$100.00 Sfleinen 7/23 11:33 am
$50.00 DallasHopps 7/23 11:39 am
$10.00 jemerson23 7/23 11:48 am

That now brings the total to $505.00 and more than enough. You guys are great!

Im a little unsure as to what to do now? Should I take the donate button down or not? I need to do a few thing and wont be able to get back on the computer for a few hours so this will be my last update/post until then...

Well you said you would take it down after goal is met.

Could use the extra for a hager cue extension or retractable bridge. Most of the handicap players used them at the national games I helped out at. (along with some great homemade wheels that attached to the shaft for long shots)

I wish I could have sent more, but things are tight right now. Thank for helping a veteran in need.

Your right jemerson23. I will take it down now.. 1 more donation came in from EDRJR (thank you!) before I could, so the total is now $515.00

$10.00 EDRJR 7/23 12:09 pm

Paypal takes 2.2% plus $.30 on each transaction also. I havent figured it out down to the penny, but it should be right about where we needed it to be..

I spoke to the gentleman last night and this morning via email, and he has no idea about this. He wanted to add some Kamui chalk, Kamui Tips, and some Balabushka chalk to his order, and keeps asking how to go about the payment
Ive kinda just blew it off and told him we will take care of that when the cue arrives and I inspect it and stuff for him...

That is an excellent idea about the retractable bridge. I wonder if the London Bridge is retractable.

Rain-Man,
There will always be others in need. You obtained your goal from some very generous AZBers. I think you should take down the donation button.

Others will be able to take the opportunity to help out other deserving people in the future.

John Barton of www.jbcases.com has really stepped up to the plate by providing a cue case for this wounded warrior. I don't know if John could put the Purple Heart logo on the case or not but if I were John (and I could easily do it) I would want to know if the wounded warrior would want this logo on the leather case.

Rainman, Thank you for doing this for this gentleman and thank you to this soldier for his service to our country.
I will be sending the package that we spoke about to you today.

Very nice, great offer from JB as well! hm.. wonder if I can gently nudge him towards my son's pool career posts LOL Although I would not trust a guy who likes jump cues this much with making a case for my son LOL  If he can do a purple heart on the case that would look awsome, post a pic if it's done please. My daughter just married a soldier and I spend some time in the military, nothing dangerous though, just in M.I. listening to the bad guys from a truck and later in a room in the NSA.

Banks, I have to give you props for this, you donated a good sum to my son's Jr Nationals trip, by far the highest total from the people who helped out.

I'm proud to be a member of a site like this.

Count me in for a small donation, it will be in about 5 hours when I get home from work and on my own pc .I think what you are doing for this true American is great!!!!!

As long as your son doesn't stay up all night drinking Shirley Temples and playing Crazy 8's before his matches, it will be worth it.

I was going to ask to work on Echelon, but it intercepted my e-mail and told me it doesn't exist, so now I'm stuck doing A/P.

Of course none of that stuff exists, when I was there, the NSA was still known by No Such Agency hehe. Now it's the new cool agency that everyone loves to hate.

I had to get a clearance above regular Top Secret to go there. I even have a funny story about that, in my whole class of new recruits, I was the only one born in a foreign ****ry (and a former USSR country to boot, Lithuania) and I was the FIRST one to get my clearance and be OK to do my job. Funny stuff that Army.

I know how I felt and how my son felt when he got his cue as a gift from a forum member, I can imagine how this guy will feel once he's over the shock of the news hehe.

I'll try to keep my son away from snorting coke off hooker's asses to be best ability so as not to waste anyones money that donated.
Although if anyone wants to throw in a few bucks for dad to do the same.... LOL

Thank you...

A little more on the way. Hopefully the paypal in your sig goes to you! :o

Wow again.. I took the donate button down and you guys still find a way around that to donate anyway. You guys are what it's all about, seriously, just great people... Thanks Banks..

update

Hi,

Ok, here is todays update...

(+) $525.00 In cash was donated through PayPal

(-) $18.49 Fees taken by PayPal

(+) $506.51 Net amount

$475.00 Original amount for the cue, plus shipping

That leaves $31.51 left over. I know he was interested in purchasing a few additional items, so we will use this toward those items. Here is a copy of the last 2 emails I received from him:

Yesterday:

Also, I'm looking to buy a few each of the beta kamui chalks, a 3 pk of bushka chalk an a couple kamui black, clear tips, can I buy them off eBay and save 10%?

Then this morning:

Ill take it at 19oz. I better take just the cue, its gonna be painful enough, lol. Thank you very much for this. It means a great deal to me.

So those items mentioned will be getting shipped (I know from looking at his purchase history that he uses Medium Kamui's). Im also sending a Predator Shaft sock/sleeve, and Predator Logo Joint Protectors..

Yesterday I received a call from Cuestix Billiard Supplies. After seeing the thread, and putting one and one together, they figured out that I was "Rain-Man", and called to offer some more help (Samantha820643). They are sending me a retractable bridge and a few other goodies so that I can then also send them to him (Thanks Cuestix!!)..

I had a tough time finding this cue for him, they were on back order at Predator. I actually had to get the butt section from one secondary supplier, and the shaft from another.. Funny thing is that I actually ordered the shaft from Cuestix  They had no idea that the shaft I ordered was for this..

I think everything should be arriving in the next day or two, and I will update from there...

I think that about covers everything for right now, hope I didnt leave anything out..

Rain-Man
