you know it seems like pool has died in alot of spots around me and so i asked players whats goin on and they said we dont have any tour or many stops in are area. so me and my best bud biz said ok well lets start a points tour for mich. ohio and indiana. now both of us bein poolplayers (we try to but will get there one day) and business operaters me a co-owner of a local moving company and him the local tap league (which i love more then a.p.a) need help we need first a big sponsor for the tour which hopefully would be a cue maker/company and then we need a couple small sponsors. now where not in this to rob players or make alot of money it will be a players tour ran by players. if anyone knows good contact info for what we are trying to do plaese let me know.we have big dreams and hopes thanks for your time and help

You will have to get at the end of the line, as most the companies get these inquiries on a regular basis. They pick and choose their spots that are going to be most rewarding for their buck. In all honesty you must have a lot to offer to get them to even talk to you sometimes.

you know we will get somthing rolling for a tour for ohio, mich and ind. and all i have to say is i hope players come out and show support cuz its funny players say man no-one does anything for us players and then when they do they dont come and show support if you know a poolroom owner that is intrested in having a 1000.00 added tourney in say late sep-jan have them p.m me

It sounds like that area could use a tour for the players. But if you are going to try to put something serious together, then you need to get serious about it.

These companies get inundated with requests from tours and promoters all the time. (and let's face it, there are some people out there in the pool world who are a little than honest all of the time)

You are going to have to spend a lot of time emailing and calling potential sponsors and dealing with negative responses from post of them.

If you are hoping that they will see your message and call or pm you, it isn't going to happen.

Ask someone like Mike Janis how much time he spends dealing with current and potential sponsors or room owners. It is most likely many hours a week. And Mike has built a very successful tour that can offer a good deal of publicity to his sponsors.

The first thing a company is going to want to know is what you can give to them as your sponsor. And the good feeling of helping out a new tour is not going to be nearly enough to bring a big company on board.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. Just trying to be honest.

Mike

What will you name the tour? I like Ohio, and especially Toledo. It's a nice place to play pool, and it ain't too far from me either! :p

I would contact Ironman here on the forums he might have some good advice. He and another man put on the Fast Eddie's tour down here in Texas/Louisiana and it is fantastic.

Eric.
