Hey guys, I'm just looking for a SS half joint. I have a cue in the works and I'd like to use a 5/16x14 ss half joint rather than a full one. I'm not looking for a cue with that joint - just the steel joint collar itself. If anyone has one, or can tell me where to find one, I'd be super grateful. Thanks again for any help :)

Not only are his the best... He originated the SS 1/2 joint.

Ask a cuemaker to cut a full SS joint in half. :idea2:

I don't know if he originated it, I've seen them on a few Rocky Tillis cues from the 70's...but I don't doubt that Searings are the best though. He is the man ;). You're absolutely right, I'm going to see if it can be done. Thanks

Get in touch with danktrees. He has a gorgeous Kenny Murrell cue with this joint.

Worth noting, I actually have an original unused Tillis joint as well as having compared many uninstalled Searings. They make look the same when finished but they are completely different in every other aspect.

Rocky did use a half joint but he also used others as well , I have seen some and hit balls with them, I lived in Florida for some years and have been a collector since the mid 70's .I have a MW -BEM Rocky Tillis that has a 5/16x18 piloted regular SS joint , maple stitch ring collar delrin butt cap and 9 ball joint protectors with a linen wrap, my fiend and cue maker Wayne Gun who passed away was Rocky's neighbor and learned to make cues from Rocky . I also have a very early Joss shaft from when Bill and Dan were still making cues together up East, and it is a 5/16x18 piloted thread . I think any good cue maker can face one down to however long you want it .
