Looking for wrap tools

Yes, it comes with a video and explains in detail exactly how to do a wrap job on it, and no, it doesn't come with any wraps. My best suggestion is to contact Kenny Koo. He is the man for leather wraps. Chris Hightower also sells wraps on here.

Thanks for all help

Look like i maybe get a magic warp jig

Does anyone have one used for sale?

If you go to the link below and get the kit with the DVD, Lee shows you how to install a leather wrap without the wrap jig.
The jig is not necessary if you take your time and are patient.
There is a definite learning curve.
I installed leather wraps for years the way Lee shows in the video.
I now use a wrap jig, only to save time.

Hope this helps

wrap magic fixture!!

heres why i had never installed a leather wrap before i buy this product and some of hightowers wrap and the first one i ever put on (my own cue) turns out great i still play with it it has a few small flaws but honestly i learned alot and by my second one they were turning out great!!

i suggest it and it pays for it self really fast.

This kit would retail for over $200.00 in stores, if such a kit were even available!

Now that's funny....I think there may have been some late night commercial watching influence in that statement!

To jig or not to jig?....that is the question?

I say jig.....but that's just me.

If you have a Cue Smith lathe I make a easy to use fixture that mounts on my lathes. If you use another brand of lathe I would suggest the Unique Products stand alone leather installation fixture.

I have the DVD from Lee. No jigs needed, or even a lathe if you have a little imagination. I have done about 10 wraps, and you would be hard pressed to find the seams at first glance, after the second test cue. It is a good DVD to get started with.

Thanks,
Jon

I once talked to a customer of mine that told me he had more deep fishing reels than he knew what to do with and he took different colors of Irish Linen and put it on those reels and use them to give the drag needed to install wraps. I never saw him use them, but he told me the reels were really expensive so I never tried it.

BS they are not expensive and you could wrap a couple hundred yards of string on a nice salt water reel

The one I use offshore and it was only $50

You could also just get an flipping reel and change out the top nut and seal to accept a roll of linen.....should be able to find the right size reel that could just slide right inthe tube in the roll of cord. You can buy those reels for around 20-30 bucks.

I don't get out deep sea fishing These days, but I have a few larger reels that would be big enough to possibly get a few wraps on, and the thought had crossed My mind. It just never seemed worth It to me to keep re spooling them with linen, when It's just as easy for me to feed the linen straight from the spool It comes on, and control the drag By hand. It may be worth while for all I know though. Sounds like It was for someone. They make much bigger reels then I have though, some of them are the size of a small wench, and someone could get a lot more linen on some of those.

I can remember as a child that sometimes we used surf rods to fly kites with. It may getting them down out of the air easier then doing It by hand.

This guy was a commercial fisherman, so it is possbile that his reels were more expensive than the one you use. But it is not my area of expertise so I was just going off what he told me. People also say cues are not expensive because Walmart sells them for $29.95.
