Loose Pin in SP

I had Dick at RHN Cues make me a break cue last year that has a wood to wood radial pin joint - sneaky pete style. I rarely use the cue (although it does break like a cannon) because I've been primarily playing straight pool. But I have noticed that the butt has a rattle to it when tapped on the table when apart. Together there's no problem, but tapping the butt alone gives off a vibration sound as if the pin may be loose. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,
Ron F

Send it back to Dick as it's an easy fix for him. No need to even discuss it...I see no reason it should of even been mentioned on a public forum.

a.) I tried to contact Dick twice and got no response. I don't think he's in the greatest of health and respect him and his situation if that is the case.
b.) If it only needs to be tightened can I do it without shipping it 500 miles and risking it being damaged/destroyed.

I come here for help; not criticism.

I'm sorry I didn't realize he was hard to contact. He was on this forum today. A loose pin isn't something that can be just tightened. I'm sure you've already checked the weight bolt?

Remove the bumper and check the weight bolt to make sure it is tight. If that doesn't work send the cue back to the builder Dick is a good guy who will take care of the problem.

If you are having a Hard time contacting Dick, contact cuesmith here on the forum, I am pretty sure that he is good friends with Dick, and I am also sure Sherm will help if he can.

Good Luck

Thank You

Thank you Manwon for your advice. There is no weight bolt in the cue so I'll try to contact Dick again to get it back to him.

I meant no malice to Dick by posting. He's a super guy, a great cue builder, a dream to build a cue with and he's extremely knowledgeable on any cue-related subject. And he's a class act to boot.

Thanks again.

I have sent a message about the repair. No problem on that what-so-ever. I really don't understand why you couldn't get a hold of me however. I reply to all messages on my voice mail especially if it was concerning a problem with one of my cues or repairs and I have no record of an e-mail.
