Ran across an article submitted by Lou Figueroa about playing in the 2000? US Open One Pocket event. It appeared in the October 2000 issue.

Nice article. Lou talks about playing Efren and Cliff Joyner at the event.

Looks like it was originally posted by Lou on RSB.

Lou got 2 games against Efren. 4-2.

Good article, good job Lou.

Thank you, 3Rail.

My recollection on this is a bit fuzzy but, yes, I posted a trip report on RSB and then Bob Campbell, who then I believe was editor/publisher of "All About Pool" and later wrote the very nice book, "Do It for the Game" contacted me. He thought it'd be nice to publish an amateur's account of what it was like to play in the US Open, so he printed it.

In the article, you say you had made a slight change in your PSR that resulted in more success on your banks.

You quoted Efren, post match, as saying 'Louis bank good. Miss straight in.' To which, you both laughed.

Again..nice read.

ps: I can't post the article...It's in newsprint in an issue of the newpaper/magazine that I just received from another AZB member....thanks WendyB.

I found it! Took a lot of digging in the back of the storage closet but I found it. I will transcribe it this afternoon or tomorrow (pool, cigars and beer tonight)
and post it. It was a pretty good article. Actually I thought AAP was pretty snappy too. I had forgotten.
