Low deflection ferrule material for Carbon shafts.

As far as low deflection material, Isopast/tomahawk/juma all work well, depending on how you build your ferrules. Have not used the Hydex. Basically as other's have pointed out, it's not just the ferrule material and thicknesses etc. One has to actually build things and try it in different configs to actually see if it does what they think it will. There is NO magical formula that fits all. Anyone that has actually built shafts knows this.

BTW, you have mentioned that I have all kinds of money to buy expensive machines and blah blah.....you have NO IDEA how I have gotten to where I am. 30 + yrs of putting extra money aside, the mistakes caused by people that gave bad advise simply because they could(not actual cuemakers)...costing $$$, and hand building things as I didn't have the actual money to buy premade stuff. I have worked My Ass off to be where I am while working a fulltime job, plus side jobs of recovering tables and raising 4 children, and guess what....? I don't make a Fkn dime back on my investment of time, money and ....money and time and I don't care, I have always done it as a Passion. I have had the Awesome privilege to have had some of the great guys in this profession/forum help me along the way, and will always be in their debt, and will always repay it the same way they gave it to me.....the person needs to be willing to try first before getting the answer, You sir will not be on the list to help! For some dumbass blowhard such as yourself to barge in this section and be the dick you have been boils my blood! You don't deserve to be here IMHO, You even went as far as to pull the Senior card in one of the responses to my post, like that gives you clout??....I am probably older than you...YOU DON"T EVEN POST YOUR REAL NAME but you call out Joey, Myself, and others.......you sir ......Should be ashamed.
It's people like you that stop people like me and a lot of others from even trying to help beginners anymore.
I am done for now....but I advise, If your gonna be a d#@k....better back it up with your Actual accomplishments in the field of Cuemaking, not what you plan to do.

Just a bit of FYI...Hydex 202 and Isoplast are the same material, as far as I know...

Clinger dave you piss me off, but I also wish you a speedy, complete recovery; thumbs are important things. I was planning to video some of my cue work, but I'm discovering there's a lot to learn regarding movie software etc, and I really don't want to spend time on that now. After reading your last nasty post, I believe it's best for me to just take some pictures, which I can be attach to a reply in this thread. I'll do that in the next few days. First...That's the best you can do???? expected better crap I guess. All one has to do is use their phone, touch the camera thingy and the the video thingy and Whola....a video! Just like you shoulda done on the 'test' you did when you called out j2pac on his product..... SMH. Second, Don't want nor need your fake 'be well wishes! You are the passive aggressor type that tries to flip the script so you don't look like the bad guy....but most here see it for what you are... simply a poser!. I for one, am NOT insecure when it comes to what I know and do. Been doing it long enough. I also try not to be condescending....something you could learn along your path of enlightenment. You're trolling again, joey. Yup, I like Predator low deflection shafts, they revolutionized pool I believe, and that's why a ton of pros switched to them. Laugh all you want, we're different, I care about low deflection, you don't. That's ok. Presently my ferrule is a thin, slip on, made from Barrenger's phenolic. It weighs 1.6 grams at diameter 14.4 mm diameter (That's before trimming to 11.7mm or 12.7mm shaft). (I should trim one to size and weigh it) So it's pretty light, and ABS might not produce a significant deflection reduction. Cool, I see clinger is liking you

You're right, I forgot the phone will take a video. Where can I post that video? When I did the test I was just trying to verify the strength of ABS. Said that many times but you just ignore it, and shout fake news. Sad, clinger, keep trolling

your the guy that said tomahawk 'shattered' in your test, and when you were questioned by the guy that knows basically EVERYTHING about that product...you tried to bamboozle him, even telling him to do the 'test' you did....even though you offered NO PROOF you did the test in the first place....then you tried to walk it back once you realized who he was.....even stating you did another 'test', without any video proof, and then said "it didn't shatter, don't know how that happened".... basically, your simply an older poser....
go into your shop and actually do some work.....then maybe it can be revisited down the road......
BTW, your other post of all the pros switched to the Predators.....that was 15-20yrs ago.....news flash....PROS PLAY WITH WHATEVER IS FREE!!!! Doesn't mean it's good.......

I DIDN'T . Not one of my shafts out there has a hollowed end . Hell, if I really want to make it low-end mass, I'd just drill with a 3/8 and have a carbon fiber pad . No ferrule .

Are your shafts tapered similar to Predator's, to optimise low deflection? Probably not, since you're just waking up to low deflection.

No, they're not . Jeesh. This is another can of worms in the cue ball squirt discussion. It's been argued the end-mass is all that matters .
Pred has conical taper and has "pro-taper". Good Lord. Another can of worms .

I'm impressed (seriously). I didn't know you were shipping cues all over the world. How many lathes do you have? How many employees do you have? I would love to see all your cues, but I can't find you on facebook. I typed in "joey bautista cuemaker" but only found a group you started.

I have no employees .
You can search here by using the advanced search and search the cue gallery.

What are you gonna do ? Just make the front lighter and lighter ?

You're full of it, clinger. What I said about my test was true. If I didn't believe that why would I encourage others to duplicate the test? I didn't try to bamboozle anyone. Because of j2pacs reply, I did the test again the next morning, got different results, and I immediately posted that. Seems honorable to me. It will be funny to see what comes out of your big mouth after viewing some of my cue work.
I didn't say all pros switched to Predator, and that wasn't 15-20 years ago. Something wrong with you, clinger!

All you know about me is I like Predator low deflection shafts, that's what I played with.

Great post clinger, but I was quoting joey. He's got FB with 1200 followers. I was asking him for the link - That's where he shows all his cues. Are you OK?
