LP Custom Cues #2 Cue Made For Avmasters's Son

Here are your options...

1. Cut the crack out and add another piece of wood to the rear and put a buttcap on it.
(I can add rings between to pretty it up)

2. I can shorten the cue by two inches and then put a buttcap on it.

I dont see any other options at this point.
Maybe the winner can come up with an idea and we can go from there.

The cue is not ruined, just needs a little more repair then anticipated.

I am in favor of option 1, besides money is for a good cause, wasn't doing this to win a cue, that could just be an added bonus.

Shorten it

Really, it doesnt matter...i was giving my $$ for the cause, so it is kinda irrelivant. the intention was good. I say shorten, but it is all good any way we do it!
 
Option 1 sounds good to me too. Lets just let Lee use a piece
of wood that he thinks looks good, and run with it.:thumbup:
 
Ok so so far it seems the tide is leaning towards letting the maker do his thing..

Ok, I just wanted make sure, that there were no surprises here. When I inpected the cracks on the butt cap I couldnt see the other damage or this never would have been raffled off. I would have kept it and played it untill it couldnt play no more..
 
I have a nice piece of ebony I can use with some bushka rings above and below, transplant a small piece of the bocote(from the top) between the ring and buttcap (i recommend we go with black delrin.
Please remember I will have to clear over the cue but should only take about two weeks.

Thats how I would do it but it really should be up to the winner.

Since ebony is on the plate. How about adding a Hoppe ring and a short butt cap. Make the new sleeve about 3 inches long.

Hate to bump such an old thread, but Seeing as I never heard if Simp got the cue back from Lee, figured I'd ask...

Seeing as there was some issues I read about with Lee after I had to take a break for a while...
 
Edit,....correction I did get the cue a long time ago and lee bought it back from me. I found an old thread I created to raffle the cue (with new rings he put on) and Lee had sent me a PM to buy the cue back. This thread can be closed as this was not a part of his owed cues. PM me with questions.
