LTF: Cue Maker in Connecticut

I need to get a present for my future Father In law who was a big pool player back in the 60s and 70s (not a professional, just enjoyed it). He is born and bred in Connecticut, so I think it would be best to find a maker that is from that state and possibly meet with them to discuss the cue or present him with it.

The theme of the cues is a “limo” or “Town Car”. He owns a limo company so I thought designing a cue with a limo theme would be great.

Ideas are ebony forearm, with another wood point (similar to what is found in cars, eg, bem, curly maple or even walnut) with silver/chrome veneers. the only other requirement would be in the butt end would be a limo and the company logo.

I have a year to present this, so I am in no rush. However, I only want to spend around $600-$800 on it, so I am not sure if this is even feasible.

If you know anyone in CT that would be great. Please provide names and recommendations.

Thanks

Dan

In CT there is Paul Drexeler (PFD Studios) in Marlborough, Greg Kucharsky (Greg's Kues) in Southington, and Barry Cameron (Cameron Cues) in Clinton.

I think you might be hard pressed to get a custom limo themed cue in the $600 range but it may be possible for one of these cuemakers to include some sort of limo-related reference or image in the design.

I also agree with the previous posters who recommended Joe Callaluca from New Hampshire. He makes great cues at reasonable prices and could work out details via email and/or telephone calls.

Good luck with your thoughtful gift.

Best,
Brian kc

I highly reccomend Greg Kucharski. I consider him one of the best cuemakers in the country. He can be reached at 860-276-1281 or gregs_kues@hotmail.com. Larry Gendler, BCA certified instructor.

I agree with the above posters. All of the makers listed are capable. To keep cost in your range, maybe consider an ebony cue with silver rings and custom joint protectors engraved with the image.

Cue maker?

Paul Drexler is the man! PFD Studios cues are great playing cues and he is a master of designing custom themed cues. You can't go wrong with him!

Good Luck!!!
