Can anyone give me the low-down on Lucasi cues? Where they are made, etc.? I did a search, but did not come up with anything.

some are made in China, some made in Japan,,,,,good cues in my opinion, although there will be a lot of detracters on this forum.

"Lucasi" came out of Jim Lucas' name,,,owner/distributor in USA is Cue&Case Sales, Florida...for some reason they don't have a working website.

I have been a dealer in this brand for about 4 years,,,had very few defects; which were readily, speedily, and cheerfully replaced by Cue&Case

they are usually the largest show at billiard expos...I have nothing but good words for them.....j

I basically agree, though for around the same money I'd rather have a Joss. To me, and this is subjective, Lucasi's have a "tinnny" hit, without a lot of feel.

Overall, it depends on what you value more: playability or inlays. For around $200-$250, you get much more in the way of inlays on a Lucasi than a $200-$250 Joss, but like I said, I'd still take the Joss.

This isn't the kind of info you asked for, but I have one Lucasi cue (#LE-66). My particular cue doesn't feel "tinny" in my hands. I use it now with a Predator Z shaft, but even when I screw on the original shaft, it has a good hit and feel. I just prefer the 11.75mm diameter of the Z shaft better. Remember, hit and feel is all subjective to each individual's taste.

I bought a L-2000SP Sneaky Pete along with a case for my chick friend about a year ago and she loves it. I've played a bit with it as well and I like it too. Solid cue for the money:)

I totally agree, Maniac. Even with the Z shaft. They hit extremely well. Best cue you can buy, for the price. This is the one I have. With 2 shafts, not the Z, it's around $250.

Hey,
Very first cue I ever bought was a Lucasi. I still have it. I bought it about 5 years ago. It looks just like the model L-2004NB. It has the 5/16 x 18 joint which is what they used before they went to almost all uniloc I believe. I still shoot with it every now and then and I still like it very much.

Doesn't Thorsten shoot with a Lucasi?

I wouldn't have bought it, but I won a Lucasi Sneaky. The cue really plays pretty well. If I had paid for it I would have definitely considered worth what they charge for it.

Last time Buddy Hall came in the Flamingo he had a couple Lucasi cues he was selling. A sneaky and one that kinda looks like the one Hemicudas posted.
A friend of mine bought them both from him, they have a real nice feel, hit and balance.

An A-Z member donated some one piece house cues made by Lucasi to the Sunshine center last year, and everyone loves them, they are always fighting over the 20oz. LOL:D

Thats funny, that is the exact model i have..it just jumped out of the display case. I loved the look of the cue..i use a 314 shaft on mine, but have recently switched to a Black dot shaft....love the hit and feel of my cues

i used that same cue for years. I recently switched to another Lucasi, exact same hit and feel. Great cues! (i had to switch bc im not very careful with cues and they look like shitt after a few years)

i love my lucasi

i have a lucasi le-27 and i love it.

mine came with the 8 piece laminated shaft.

i have recently caught the bug of having a custom one of a kind cue.i'm looking to have something done in the near future.if it weren't for the desire to own a one of a kind cue i would still use the lucasi.

I used to use a snooker cue for all my play (common here in Australia as we us small tables with 2" balls). I decided I wanted something different from the normal splice, so I looked on this forum, and decided to get a Lucasi, as most rate them as good value for money cues with looks. I bought a LSS-3 from Nielsens Billiards on ebay(fantastic seller!!) and have been more than satisfied. We now have some 9' Brunswicks in town, and I'm having no trouble with ball control (no 'tinny' feel), and a couple of the better players have tried it and have nothing but praise in both looks and play. I'm now considering a Z-shaft, as with the small tip diameter and euro taper, I will be comfortable with the 2" balls. As a side not, I've just got a Dufferin Titan at a good price, and am very impressed with its feel, with the steel pin-wood on wood joint.

I'm strongly considering picking up this Lucasi cue on ebay cause I want a cue with a wood-wood joint and no wrap. This would be the perfect solution, especially since it's very inexpensive.

I have played with that model cue. I liked the one I had very much. Good bang for your buck.

That is the stick I got for my friend. She loves it and I like hitting the balls with it too. I think for the money you will be very pleased with it:)

We used to sell Lucasi several years back when they first came to market and felt they were very
good playing cues that looked great at affordable prices. The reason we stopped carrying the line
was because the mfg (Cue & Case) could not keep up with dealer demand for the cues.
As I remember, all the cue parts were made in the US, shipped to the far east for assembly and
then shipped back as finished cues with the velvet cases. We would order cues and keep our fingers
crossed that they would arrive in the next container.
Nothing but good things to say about the cues and the folks at Cue & Case who were top notch.
We also sold McD, Meucci and Joss but now we just carry Viking due to faster delivery time. If there
is a drawback to Lucasi it's only because they have no options (wrap color, tip size, etc). There may
have been some changes at Cue & Case in the last 5 years but surely they still produce a nice cue.

Someone mentioned their website didnt work - Lucas' daughter was supposed to get that going back
around 1999 so we're guessing it still hasn't happened.

I made the seller an offer, maybe he'll bite. I really do love the simplicity of the cue design. I consider myself very traditional, so a sneaky just seems to suit my personality. I've been using a stainless joint but am going towards a slightly softer hitting cue. I also like the longer taper (15") since my cue has a short taper (10"). I use a closed bridge the majority of the time so the longer taper will really feel much better.

And hey, if I don't like it, I'm sure I could sell it to one of the kids at my local poolroom for close to what I paid.:)

I'll let you guys know if I'm a proud father.

I've used a Lucasi once, when just practicing, and I actually liked the hit of the cue. It was kinda medium, yet you could get plenty of action on the cb with a easy stroke. and the long taper of the shaft felt nice. I will say they are very nice cue for the price.

The only thing i didnt like about some of thier cues is the fake inlays or as some people call them Over lays.
