Lucasi = junk?

After reading this thread i got out my Chinese made Lucasi and told it "Don't worry i still like you." The Cocobolo brightened a bit so i know it heard me.

LOL !! funnny ! Also, tell him I don't hate him, it was not his fault where he was born, and if he works hard and stays out of trouble, his wood may stay true !

Long read

It's interesting to see how the thread swings from pollution to junk, I guess
the question about Lucasi has been lost in transition.

It's not the first time I read "Buy US made":
I think if many of you knew where some of the cues are made,
well, the choice of cues would be very limited. I would not mention any
manufacturers but for instance some comes from the same factory - just with a different name and design.

Pollution: Check out who has committed to the Kyoto protocol. Green on the map means committing - red not...

Custom cue:
A big can of worms and since the blue book is mentioned - it's thick with - how many cue makers - in it. Which maker should be chosen ?

If you like the Lucasi, play with it and enjoy the game - and not get to hung
up in the details about where, why and how much.
If you enjoy the game - who cares if the cue is worth 10% more in 10 years ?

Play the game - enjoy it - that's my advice :)

Have a continued nice Christmas celebration..

My LE-66 and my wife's LE-18 are going on their fifth year of ownership and both cues are still straight as a laser beam. They both hit well (in our opinion, which is the only two that matters to us), look nice, and were a good bang-for-the-buck. Neither one of us has ever had a problem with the Uni-Loc joints either. I'd recommend one to somebody not wanting to spend big bucks on a starter cue. Now that I've got a nice Jacoby, I don't use this cue most of the time, but I still use it enough to make some judgements on it. My wife's cue is her main player. She loves hers!!!

I don't give a rat's ass where they were made. If I got rid of everything in my house that was made overseas, I'd be living in a cardboard box :D!!!

Today i had the cheap looking leather wrap taken off my Lucasi and replaced with linen. After removing the leather we found that the wood was maple that was cut into 4 pie shaped pieces and glued together. The custom cue maker (Chris Byrne of CB cues Colorado)said that it was done for strength. Now a Lucasi is not a cheap Chinese made cue so maybe they are trying to put some quality into the product.

I have a Lucasi I bought it in Germany a few years ago. Its a well made cue, good fit finish, reasonable shaft wood considering the price. Good paint job, good wrap. overall it passes the test, however I couldnt make it work for me. I couldnt move the CB with it, I changed ferrels tips a few times and no matter what I couldnt get it right. But thats just me, I have had custom cues that I couldnt play with either. I didnt even know where it was made when bought it, I still really dont know for that matter, who cares? just play pool
