just about finished with this one.it is only the second j/b i've made.it is slightly curly Purplehart with Macassar jump handle and a Purpleheart shaft.the tip/ferrule is a material similar to G-10 but harder and it doesn't amke the terrible noise G-10 does.rings are SW style ivory and the pins are both 3/8-10 aluminum with the jump pin having only 3-4 threads or so for a quick disconnect.the cue is sold.

That macassar looks pretty with grains and all.

Interesting jump handle screw.

Another purdy one from Mason.

Is this cue for Jimbo? Got a lot of purpleheart in it .... :rolleyes:
 
no it's actually pretty light.the entire cue weighed 18.4 and i added 1/2 oz of weight to make it 18.9oz.the shaft weighs 4.3oz and the jump handle weighs about 5oz if i remember correctly.it is short at 11.75" making it barely legal.none of it is cored,but since it is small it isn't too heavy.

Now that is a classy J/B, nice to finally see one here. I especially like the weight of the cue.
 
it's pretty quick,couple turns and it's off.not quite as quick as the uni-loc with insert,but then again it is a big pin and needs no insert,which i like.
