I wanted to take a moment and publicly praise Bassel for his compassion for Dave and my plight after a tragic fire took our cue shop off the map. With one phone call and a few pictures, Bassel managed to custom build the parts we needed to get our burned up repair lathe back in commission and us to start another pot of beans. With this we are slowly on our way to rebuilding and replacing all that we lost and hope to be turning fresh wood in the very near future. Bassel did all that he did at a ridiculously low cost to us and for that I am forever in your debt. Thank you, thank you, thank you and may the best karma come your way...... Happy Holidays

It's Bassel I would have not expected anything less of him. He has been a stand up guy since day one I got into the cue business. And he is still helping me getting up and running. Same with Tom and Cuejoe and the rest of the senior members here. Tis the season indeed.

As often as we argue and debate in these two forums, when push comes to shove, this is what usually happens.

This is a great example of us covering each others backs when something happens or a member is in need.

From many others that I have had good experiences dealing with, I would expect no less from them as well. Tom and Todd for a start.

I had one AZer
that didn't know me from Adam bid on an EBay item that wouldn't get shipped to Canada (not ivory) for me and went out of his way to make sure he won the item and re ship to me.

Recently, there was another cue repair related item that won't be shipped to Canada any longer. Randy PMed me and offered to get me what I needed and re ship to me anytime I liked.

Kim, did me a huge favor some time ago before we got a Lowes here.

So its nice to see these threads because this is the kind of stuff that goes on behind the scenes all year long.

I agree. People my age (25) don't really play pool anymore. Between video games and other thing pool is been forgotten by the younger generation. I love the game so much I want it to be around for a while so my kids can enjoy it too. I got bit by the bug of fixing cues but on a college budget I berly have enough money for a tip. Between toms free tips that he sent me for my microscope reviews and Bassels great lathe deals and unlimited knowledge I feel very privileged to be part of this tight knit community. I haven't entire life ahead of me so I will keep going saving getting pass me downs and sooner or later you will see a cue made by me. I believe a lot in the master-opprentice relationship and I am lucky to have so many amazing masters here. Who know maybe one day I will be a master. Lol

Thanks for the kind remarks. I try to help when ever I can, when you called me, it was a no brainer to help out. Despite a few individuals who try to lie their way for a free handout. It has not discouraged me at all. I just am a firm believer in karma. For everyone who tried to deceive me, or black mail me for free stuff. In your case when you called and told me what happened, then you wanted to order the parts to get you lathe working again, and you never asked for a discount or a handout, despite having lost almost everything to the fire, I felt a need to help out even though you never asked. I just wish I could have given you the parts for free. God knows you guys deserve it.
Thanks again for the kind remarks and hope your shop will be fully up and running very soon. I will help out with whatever I can if you need more lathe parts.

Best Regards
Bassel
