So you are saying publicly that the owners of these two companies whom you did not mention by name are known personally to you and that these people have complete disregard for human life? Provide their names and phone numbers along with yours and I will have my assistant corroborate that you know them and then she will present your comments to them in English and Chinese for them to comment on if they wish too.

I can see you are still here, even after you said you were done. Like I said moron, you have an open invitation to come up to me and introduce yourself and repeat to me in person all the ignorant insulting things you have said about me. You won't ever so it because you are nothing more than an internet bully who likes to spout nonsense. No one will be holding me back.

{I read most of the entries in this thread}

The think I do not understand is that: if the average American worker is in competition with a foreign worker making $2.00 per day, how is the American lifestyle going to look in another generation? Is anyone even going to be able to afford to play pool?

if that happens you might see americans trying to move to europe to work and send money home

thats the corner stone of capitalism(profit), buy low-sell high. Just like water flows in the path of least resistance, people seek toi make as much profit as possible. Thats just how things work. Its human nature. Our Govt has made it so difficult to be in business here that it drives business away.

Which brings up the question-whos at fault? the govt for making it bad here or a company seeking maximum profits?

I'm only one grain of sand on the beach so i'm going to do whats best for me, not any country. I cant live or change my life for any country, some ppl can and do live and die for their country. I'm just not that dedicated, I'd rather go to the beach!!

I understand that capitalism has had a negative effect on us. I think both the government and corporate greed have created a perfect storm that is destroying the USA. I wont faulkt you for not being that dedicated to our country, that is what is so great about the USA, my father-in-law died so that you can have that freedom.

LOL, you are a complete idiot and coward. My cousin in the exec VP of one of those companies, and I have seen pics and heard his first hand account of stuff he has seen over there, at his factories and others. He was spending 6 months out of the year over there, so eat a dick. Look at yourself man, make a threat, get called out, backpeddle, damn ya gotta love the internet. Well Im gonna go play some golf with my chinese made clubs and balls. So go ahead and feed your bullshit propaganda to all those who believe you, us people that can think for ourselves have better things to do. You can argue and piss and moan about everyone else being wrong all you want, ignoring facts and other peoples views, trying to pass your own off on everyone, but the fact is you are the one who is wrong, you just cant see it.

Joe

And your alternative to capitalism would be?

I never claimed to be a genius. All I know is that the current system is broke. Its supposed to be a checks and balances system. Well, theres a lot of checks being written, but nobody is balancing them.

Joe

Backpeddle? I gave you a blanket invitation. What makes you think that I feel you would be worth spending time and energy to travel to? You think that because you a first class moron that I would waste my time going to you so that I could see it in person?

Once again because it obviously takes many times for something to sink in - you are invited to come to me anytime and insult me in person like you do on here. If you do so then we will be in a fight. That's my promise to you.

So what you are saying is that IN FACT YOU DON'T know any Chinese factory owners and you are relying on stories told you by your brother. You have no first hand knowledge of this claimed disregard for human life that you say Chinese factory owners have.

Have fun playing golf I am sure you can handle the little balls really well.

My respect to your father-in-law!!!

My dad and uncle were both in WW2,

It is a shame whats happening here, the country they defended in my case, or the loss of your Father-in-law. was a different country than we live in now. That country WAS something to fight for, it WAS the greatest. But what it has evolved into is something that i'm embarassed of. I spent 6 months in Germany in the past 2.5 years and that opened my eyes to just how much things here slipped. we are under educated, over weight, and losing international respect quickly.

I was proud of America, i'm not proud of a counrty that has been nationalized, where gaming is opening up to cover budget gaps and stated want to legaloze drugs for the same reason. Desperate people have turned to selling drugs to cover their nut, and went to jail. Now you have State Govts looking into leagalizing what they have incarcerated people for, that hyproacy makes me sick.

see my thinking....?

Well you have pretty much proven that you aren't one either.

For someone that is now saying that they don't have the answer you sure do make a lot of statements as if you do.

Once again I will ask you the question, your alternative to capitalism would be what? Come on this isn't a hard question, there are only a few choices based on the ones that have been proposed and tried.

Do you even fully understand what capitalism is? When you say things like "corporate greed" then you sound very Marxist. Weren't you just deriding communism earlier and now you are using communist language to express your displeasure with the economic system that allows you have the leisure to go and play golf?

I dont think they are worried about that. If an employee dies in the factory in China, they just move the body out of the way and get another worker to do his or her job until they get someone else. With one billion people, they have a few to spare. Human life means nothing to the people who run the Chinese factories.

Joe

It seems to me, sir, that you don't know very much about China. You are one of those close minded people that just deride everything foreign because you are afraid. You instantly jump to false, outlandish conclusions when faced with a topic that is too far outside your little "American bubble".

Seriously man, read up on these topics and actually get educated. Several people have already poked holes in your claims.

I see what you are saying. It is really hard to fight for something that you dont believe in. Im not mad at anyone that stands up for what they believe in. I cannot give up on our great country, and I must do what I can so that my son will have something when he gets older, but Im pretty sure he is not gonna be working in china, lol. We need to take our country back.

Your stupidity astounds me, I am truly amazed. Now be a good boy and go beat your slaves.

Who? Dont say John, because his opinion and views are invalid to me. I guess Im just making up the 6 to 1 ratio, I mean it isnt like several economists stated this fact plain and simple during the presidential elections. And I guess my cousin is lying about the horrible things he saw in his six months over there. I guess maybe everyone except John is wrong eh? Im not closed minded, and I have enough education. As for being afraid, well, you are right, I mean if a country doesnt mind putting toxic chemicals in baby formula, well Im sorry but that scares the shit outta me.

Joe

Buying American in many instances can be done, but usually only outside of the typical retail channels to which we've become accustomed. Want an American-made button-down shirt? Don't bother with the mall. Your options are either to go online or find a good tailor. Both of these will be more expensive than buying that imported shirt at the mall, and less convenient than grabbing it from the rack and moving on to the rest of the mall's shopping cornucopia.

I understand that my PC's components, for example, were made in Asia. Some countries will always dominate certain specialty items, and I accept that. I might want a Swiss watch just because Swiss watches are an icon. But it upsets me when I need to make a project of buying a basic shirt made in my country.

Sniper, your biggest problem is lumping in all of China with the few bad apples that made the headlines.

As far as toxic baby formula goes, a couple of bad apples decided that by putting melamine in their formula, they could water it down and still fool the protein tests (formula is tested to make sure it has at least a certain % of protein to prevent unscrupulous sellers from watering it down too much. Melamine fools the machines and makes the protein count read higher than it actually is.). If I recall, they actually got to the bottom of this (if this happened in the US, you bet your ass the CEO responsible would clam up and deny everything, get an amazing lawyer, and get away with a slap on the wrist) and the people in the company who were implicated got either the death sentence or life in prison. This doesn't mean that everybody in China wants to poison your babies or that China doesn't mind this happening, just that a couple of greedy assholes that happened to be Chinese hurt a lot of people.

Seriously man, you can't base the rule on the exceptions. Would it be fair to assert that America doesn't mind killing innocent civilians just because Blackwater screwed up? Would it be fair to assert that all white Americans sleep with their sisters and cousins because a select few isolated incidents made the headlines? Would it be fair to assert that all the teenagers in an American high school are sexual deviants rife with STD's because word of mouth suggests that a select few students in the student body have the clap and sleep around?

And you would turn down an order from overseas right? You'd tell them to "buy German" or whatever country they came from?

Or do you want to sell your Cue-Z's to them but not buy what they make?

Just curious how many American made products do you see over there in China??

I am sure that the people in china are good as a whole. Its the fact that they are censored and not allowed to see how the free world lives. Its easy for them to work for ten cents an hour, simply because they do not know any better. Imagine if they were all educated, and were able to travel and live free for a year, there is no way they could go back to ten cents an hour making toasters. The peopl putting the melamine knew no better, they probably had no idea what was going on, its not the peoples' fault, its their leaders and politicians. Which brings me back to the original source of my anger, which is by supporting a communist nation that allows no freedom, we are contributing to their ignorance, and or demise.

Joe

I agree with you, If I had a son, family etc. I'd fight like hell to get America back. However I dont. So since I'm lazy, I'd rather leave and find greener pastures. Perhaps there arnt any then I would come back. I have paid my taxes here, as a honest citizen should, and still do and will long as i'm here. But to complicate my life more and fight a economic war when I dont have to, isnt gonna happen. However I do wish Americans the best and I have the highest regards for those who choose to fight!! or already did.

my best

Just curious how many American made products do you see over there in China??

:-) Well, if you read the tags then they "all" claim to be made in the USA. Seriously, though it's a tough question because the street level consumer goods that are American brands are probably made in China as well.

If the question you are asking is how many products do I see that I KNOW are made in America then I have to say that I don't see hardly ANY that I know for certain are made in the USA.

In general life that is.

However, to bring this BACK TO POOL, I see many Chinese pool players now with American cues, and not the cheap ones either. I see average players here in Xiamen China using Southwests, Cognoscenti, Omens, Scruggs, and Ginas and even Justis cases.

Last March at the Guangzhou Billiard Expo there were two dealers setup who were selling American made cues. One of them had a wall full of Dominak cues. The other one had two tables full of high end American made cues, such as SouthWest, Scruggs, Gina, Bender, McDaniels, Joss West, Prather, etc... This dealer owns a high class pool room in Guangzhou, China.

I know for example that the factory that makes Fury cues has almost $10,000,000 in hard rock maple that is imported from the USA and Canada.

They use ferrules imported from the USA, they use made in USA Tiger tips on all the cues.

One thing I do see is that consumers here ARE becoming more savvy and are beginning to demand that if a product says 'made in USA' then the retailer should prove it.

I doubt that the cars are produced in the USA and shipped here but I always smile when I see more Buicks here than I have ever seen in the USA.

The thing to remember though is there can never be a 1:1 trade off of consumer goods when one country has a much cheaper labor pool and subsequently cheaper costs of production. It's impossible for Chinese to consume American made consumer goods at the same rate that we consume Chinese made goods. It's a very simple equation, an average American from his income we can buy many more Chinese made shirts than an average Chinese can afford to buy American made shirts. If there were 1:1 parity then there wouldn't be any need for trade except in ONLY those items that America and China have none of domestically.

However what made in America products do the Chinese consume using the dollars we gave them for their consumer goods? They buy college educations. They buy vacations. They buy houses. The buy land. They buy businesses. They invest in our stock market. They buy machines. They even buy people through hiring American executives.

In turn the people of America who save money by having access to lower priced consumer goods can take their savings and invest it into a better quality of life if they choose to.
