MAGIC CHALK - Made in Russia

Everyone touts how long this chalk stays on and the lack of need of having to chalk as much.

I have a question for those that sell or use it. Do any of you chalk after every shot still with Magic Chalk? I chalk after every shot, have forever, not likely to change as its ingrained in my PSR & wonder if anyone is doing this with Magic Chalk as if you don't need to apply it as much is there any downfalls or issues if you do? I.E. excess build up, etc.

I've been using/testing for a week or so now.I think MC grips better than either current Master or pre-flag Master but what i really like is it's FAR less dusty/dirty. After half an hour with Master(especially newer) my hands and cue are filthy. With Magic i can play a couple hours and hands/cue are WAY cleaner. The best in this regard is Kamui but i'm not spending 30bux on chalk. I'm sticking with Magic for now.

I chalk before the game, and that's it. Really free's me up to only concentrate on the game, not grab my chalk, chalk the cue, put it away. There is no break from my concentration. Imagine, make the shot and then slowly moving in for the next shot, with the same focus you just had on the last shot.

Also, for those that will always chalk after every shot, some of my teammates still do, it does not build up, but they also don't chalk very much cause they tip is still covered, they just make the 'motion" or just swipe once really gently. Either way, you can chalk every time or not, the choice is yours.

LIke the poster above says, it's also just nice NOT to look like you jerked off a smurf after a game of pool ;)

Thanks for the response RJ. "Needing" to chalk every time may not be required but I'm always going to do it, it's just an ingrained habit. Nice to know there's no build up or detriment if I do with your chalk. Guess I'll give it a twirl

I use it full time and chalk after every shot as it is part of my PSR with no problems.

Dr. Dave's independent review put it on the list. Tried it, liked it. Good stuff, less chalk, less mess. You got a convert.

I have used just about all of the premium chalks.
I also tend to miscue from using extreme spin. The premium chalks have cut the miscues down compared to Masters chalk.
But there would be a miscue or two with Predator,Blue Diamond or Balabuska(messy chalk threw it in the trash after the first use)
So far 10 hours of play with Russian Magic chalk and no miscues and a very clean to use.
If you are on the fence about using this chalk give it try.
It works as advertised.

Not a fan of Magic Chalk

I received my Magic chalk 3 weeks ago and I wiped my masters chalk off of my tip and applied some magic chalk and decided to try a diagonal draw shot to test the chalk. I would put the object ball about 2 diamonds from the foot rail and the cue ball about 2 diamonds from the head rail but on a diagonal from each other. I was going to shoot a hard to medium hard diagonal draw shot until I miscued with no chalking in-between. I was using my Predator Z2 with a stock medium predator tip. I was able to shoot 8 balls in with good draw and then a miss cue occurred. I did this about 5 times re-chalking with the magic chalk after a miss cue. I got all 9 balls in once without a miss cue. I decided, I should do the same test with my masters chalk and I averaged 9 shots with my masters chalk and got about the same amount of draw with the masters.

I never grind the chalk onto the cue, like you see some people do. I usually set the butt of the cue on the floor while standing on the shot line and lightly swipe the tip 4-6 times with the chalk while analyzing the shot and deciding where I want to try and put the cue ball. I usually do this before each shot as part of my pre-shot routine.

I should explain I bought a partially used box of Masters on ebay about 12-15 years ago (had about 60 pieces in the box verses 96) and I am still using that same chalk today. I still have 42 pieces of master left in the box. I do not know if masters made better chalk 12-15 years ago or what, but for the price of the magic chalk I prefer my old masters. I finally made myself take the magic chalk to an APA league night after finally prying my masters out of the magnetic holder and I miss-cued 2 times during 4 games, trying to get a lot of draw and I chalked up because I knew I needed chalk for the extreme draw. I have done this same shot in the past with my old Masters with out miss-cues but got questions from people on how can you get that much draw.

I am going back to my old masters and sticking with my pre-shot routine of lightly swiping my old masters prior to every shot. At my current rate of chalk use, the 42 pieces of old masters, I have left, should out last me, since I am 67 years old. In my opinion there is nothing magic about the so called magic chalk. I only clean and maintain my cue about once every month and it is not because I have blue dust all over it, I just want to keep it slick. My hands are never blue using the old master?

I think I will give the two pieces of Magic chalk, that came in the box, to my teammates and see what they think.

Riiiiiight, because the test from Dr. Dave was inaccurate, and the thousands of folks that switched have documented how much better this chalk is over other premium brands, let alone a basic chalk like Masters. Of course, everyone single person backs up it's less messy than Masters as well, cause MC sticks to the tip, not your hands or shaft. Sorry, but your story is not the least bit believable. More misuces and more BLUEING ? Please. And your BRAND new to AZB, so go figure. Sorry, you sound like a SHILL from one of my many competitors.

Sorry, I'm not buying it. Of course, I still have a money back guarantee if you want to send it back to me to get your money back ? I'm guessing you never bought the chalk, right ?

I will bet any amount someone wants to that Magic Chalk will WIPE the floor against Masters, any day and twice on Sunday. I'm gonna video myself doing the same set up as described above with Magic Chalk just to prove how inaccurate your statements are. Masters finished one point ahead of Silver Cup, which most pool players really hate. One lousy, lowly, stinking point higher than Silver Cup !!!!!

Kamui finshed twice as high as Masters, and MC finished twice as high as Kamui.

Video coming shortly.

Didn't work better for me!

I am not one of your competitors. I tried Magic Chalk and didn’t think it was worth the money spent and gave my honest opinion about it.

Here is a picture of the two cubes of magic chalk, one box, I bought and the package it came in. If your address is St. Charles, IL then I bought it from you.

I understand you sell it and you and others like it, but I do fine with Masters as long as I stick with my pre-shot routine and the Masters cost considerably less. The two cubes of masters shown here, I have been using for over 6 months. One at my home table and the other, in the holder, for 2 nights a week APA league play, and yes I have used more of the masters than the one used cube of Magic chalk shown in the picture, but that is because I only used the Magic chalk on two league nights and a couple weeks at my home table and did not really like it.

I miss cued more with the magic chalk and decided I was not going to give it to my teammates so I wouldn't be blamed for their miss cues. Why would I give it to them and say, I am giving you this chalk because I sometimes miss cue with it when trying extreme draw? Let’s see If I can keep you, my teammate, from winning tonight?
