Making a 1 piece, a 2 piece

I have a 1 piece cue that I want to be jointed to make a two piece, nothing else. Just a 5/16x14 flat faced wood joint. I've been trying to find contact information for local cue makers in the Orange County, CA area since I would rather drop it off myself than ship the cue. Would you be able to forward any conacts in my area? What would YOU personally charge for something like this to be done? I just want to know what to expect if and when I find a cuemaker willing to do this.

You can go to Hard Times in Bellflower and buy an Al Romero sneaky pete for around $250.

Get in touch with Martin Bick of Superior cues, he'll point you in the right direction. He's a member here.

wontonny I think you will be better off with a radial pin or 3/8 10 pin if you want a flatface wood to wood joint, the 5/16 14 threads are a little small for good wood threads. IMHO and cheaper than installing a pin and brass insert.---Leonard

Have you seen what happens to wood to wood , big pin, no insert and no collar sometimes?
Shaft splits in the middle.

I agree with Joey here. Stop by and see Little Al upstairs at Hardtimes. He'll be able to help you. You can discuss the kind of joint you want with him. His prices are very reasonable.
