Making a cue lighter?

I love the way my cue hits, but it has always felt very heavy to me. I weighed it the other day and it's 19.6 oz's.. Is there anyway of making a cue lighter without destroying the balance point of it?

Incidentally for those that remember, I'm going to end up having this thing rewrapped anyways.. Had it cleaned and it's already "sticky" again.

Taking weight will change the hit and balance.

Too true....

If you like the way it hits now, don't change it, because you will notice a difference in more than just the weight...

I also play with a 19.6 cue and have thought since I got it that I would
like it around 19. Not sure if the .6 will make a huge differene or not.

Mine is a Carmeli and does not have a weight bolt. I wondered about having it drilled out a little ways but worried about the hit and
weight distribution changes.

What Brand is your Q? Does it have a Weight Bolt? Removal of Weight can Change the Balance Point...

Wouldn't hurt to take the weight bolt out and try the lighter weight. Usually a pretty simple procedure w/a screwdriver. Can be put back if you like. Would weigh the cue and bolt seperately - trim length from the weight bolt if want to fine tune it more.

Like PoolSleuth sez it WILL change the balance point a bit.
