just got some time on my hands and i like to learn about custom cues, because one day i think i might try to make my own, as well as for friends and family. any little tips you can give me would be great, or reference to some good reading material.

book

chris hightower has written an excellent book on the subject - he is a member of this forum and has a website called cueman i think

good luck

Chris's book and also consider the DVD package along with the book.
Its hard to read the book, watch the DVDs and not want to get involved
in either repair or building. Even if you decide not to pursue it further, the knowledge will be with you.

:thumbup:barringers DVDs are really good along with dennis', in addition to chris' of course.

its a blast, building your own cue it can also be very frustrating but well worth it:thumbup:

good luck.

And the good side of Chris Hightowers books and tapes or dvds is if you decide not to build cues you can always find someone wanting the material and after reading the book you will know a lot about cues you buy or hit with.--Leonard

If it's "reference to some good reading material" you're looking for, start at pg 1 of this section (ATCM) and start reading forward until you start reading your own posts. Then you'll know how to build a cue.
