Manny Pacquiao Also Fearless in Billiards

Though Efren and Bustie are famed Filipino icons, so too is Manny Pacquiao. Both Reyes and Bustamante agreed that Pacquiao’s billiards game improved because of practice.

Here's a cute article about Efren and Franacisco's thoughts about Pacman.

The two billiards legends remembered Pacquiao frequenting billiard halls before his boxing career picked up.

“I've known him since I won the world championship (9-ball 1999) in Cardiff, Wales. He played a lot in Ansons in Makati,” Reyes said in MP8.ph.

MP8.ph is Manny Pacquiao's website: MP8.ph.

Here's a cute video inteview with The Magician and Ted Lerner: Efren's take on Manny.

Here's another video inteview with Ted Lerner and Bustie: Francisco speaks about Pacman.

Reyes, known as one of the living legends of pool, said Pacquiao could play any billiards game. “He can play rotation, 10-ball and 9-ball. But he prefers rotation,” he said

Francisco Bustamante adds this:

Bustamante said in a separate MP8.ph interview that Pacquiao at the pool table is very much like Pacquiao in the ring. “I've known Manny for 8 years. I've met him in the pool hall… he's not scared with nobody, he likes to play with everybody.”

Reyes said Pacquiao played almost like a pro. “He's improved a lot. He shoots like a professional,” he said.

Bustamante said this is probably the reason why Pacquiao is confident in playing against anybody. “That's why he trusts his game,” he said.

But Pacquiao started to stray away from pool when he began earning millions in boxing.

Although Pacquiao is successful in boxing and other fields, Reyes and Bustamante said the Filipino sports hero never forgets his friends in billiards. “He sometimes helps the pool players, too, [through competitions],” said Reyes. Pacquiao is known to offer big prizes in his billiards competitions like the Manny Pacquiao International 9-Ball and the Manny Pacquiao 10-Ball tournaments.

A boxer, a congressman, and a pool player, Pacman is multi-talented for sure. OMG, he plays basketball, too!

Manny loves to gamble playing pool also. Big or small stakes! He was in Davao a couple weeks ago playing some money games.

Here are a couple photos of Manny playing at POD (Play or Dine) pool room in Davao City. Small place but nice! Manny lives in General Santos City which is about a 4 hour drive from Davao City.

Wow! The development of that drawing is absolutely incredible. Thanks for sharing that.

Here's a photo of him training in Vegas at Vegas Tony's place.

I'll bet he's got zero body fat.

U got action on that!!!

I have followed pacquiao's career very closely. I have also know of his pool ventures. I have always said that a pool matches and boxing matches are very similar in pressure and skill. When you step in that ring or to the table its on you....you depend on your level of training and metal preperation....I have boxed from an early age and played pool for nearly as long.....I feel the same rush and adrenalin surge from both.....pacquiao is a champ and I just wish we could have an american champ that showed the same level of comitment and heart as him
And jam...I think his body fat content would be around 5%

JAM,

Indeed, Manny Pacquiao is a good pool player!

In the 1st Makati Pool Players Association 10-Ball competition,
held over a year go, Manny went hill-hill (9-8) against
one our club's best pool players, Chris T.

What was notable about Manny's hill-hill match was that
it happened just 2 weeks after a major fight (and win) in the United States!
And I kid you not!

Some pictures here. Hope you like em, friends.

The Hand that Shook the World!

.

Believe you me when I say that the pool hall was packed to the rafters when Manny arrived!
He had a 10-car convoy with him then. When people learned that he was at the pool hall,
they came in droves! And oh! Manny ordered and paid for everything on the menu for everyone
to share that night! No kidding!

When I was straight up ripped training all the time, I was about 6% body fat. If you're at zero, you're dead... actually you could never get to zero... I think the lowest I've ever seen anyone was 3% and that was dangerous...

Jaden

P.s. Now I'm at about 20%..lol... although I'm starting to train again, so hopefully I'll be back to 12% in about 2-3 months...

Good to see you back posting, Kid. I missed you. Keep coming back. You are just like a ray of sunshine on this forum. I love reading all of your posts, every single one of them. And I kid you not! ;)

Just a thought, but with Manny so famous and well known. I wondered if anyone in billiards who knows him could ask him to plug pool in one of his interviews. Now you wouldnt get better publicity than that.

Maybe get him to play in the comps as well, that would certainly attract the media. I watched a tv program on his pre fight build up, and he seems such a nice genuine down to earth guy. Keep up the great work Manny.

Manny did sponsor a pool tournament in California a few years ago, if my memory is correct.

Thats great of him. Just shows how much he loves pool.

I have emailed my good friend Russ Anber, he trains Jean Pascal, Chad Dawson and many others to see if he can speak with Manny to maybe mention in an interview about supporting pool. And sent a message to his email on the site. Offering free lessons if he plugs pool for 1 minute even
