I can tell you without any doubt that my 25th place finish at this years
U S Open was the most thrilling of my career. Anyway, what I really want to say is "THANK YOU, AZ" for your friendship and support. The kind comments I have received from my AZ friends have really meant a lot to me.

Well deserved congrats to you, Stan. You shot great all week. You were impressive in your match vs Donny Mills (except for your scratch on the break, on the hill :p )

Eric:

I didn't see that match, but if not for that scratch, would that've been a sweep?

Stan:

I concur with Eric. Nearly the whole of the AZB family was behind you, rooting you on. My heart sank on the news that you hooked yourself on that 8-ball in the final set-and-match rack against Daryl Peach. Damn! But we're all proud of you all the same!

Warmest regards,

Yep.

Still, beating Donny Mills 11-1 in a rack your own 9 ball, break from teh box set is no small feat.

Thanks, Sean!

Yeah, my heart sank as well. Even after a week of play that table was still slick. I only made a couple or three mistakes that match and I will learn from them big-time. Daryl's a really nice fellow. Actually I had lunch with him 3 times during the week. Mark Gray was along as well. They're 2 terrific guys that each shoot lights-outs.

I was fortunate to get out of the gate first when playing Donnie. That first game can be a tough one. Donnie stubbed his toe a time or two and I was able to take advantage of my opportunities. Donnie is a great player and I can assure you that I was not comfortable when I scratched on the break at 10-0. I fully expected Donnie to make a strong charge but it just wasn't to be. Donnie is going to have many great finishes in the years to come.

You have a brand-new fan in me. Consider me your virtual pool fan forever! Thanks for making this Open special to all of us pool enthusiasts. Congrats on a good showing at the Open!

Great job.. Could not happen to a nicer guy or a better teacher of the game! I'm proud to call you a friend Stan!

Glad to see you do so well against such strong competition.

You've certainly earned my respect and not just by your performance in the U.S. Open 9 Ball Championships.

Your dad named you appropriately, Stan "THE MAN" Shuffett.

I watched a good bit of your Peach match. You played great. You did though... seem to tighten up and slow down at the end. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to keep nerves in check under those conditions.

That CB... just an inch or two either way... and maybe it'd have been you tackling Appleton!

Well done indeed. It was a pleasure and a treat to watch you.

Thank you for finally debunking that old saying, "Those who can't do, teach." Great job!

(still can't do :embarrassed2:)

Great job bud, it’s no easy feat getting out in front of all to practice what you preach! Well done ;)
