Tonight was the grand opening party .Did anyone besides me
go .Jeanette was very nice .......I was a bit confused about
Webster ??? Just wanted to see what everyone thought

You know, I completely forgot about it. I had suggested they post an announcement on here and they said they had but I never saw one? How was the turn out?

Webster is a pool enthusiast and he lives in Atlanta....

Did they make any upgrades? Last time I was there, a few weeks ago, it looked the same?

I would have gone if I'd known about it. Should have been posted here...
Anyway, I hope they had a great turnout. I'm sure this is a very nice room.

I can't believe they didn't post the grand opening on here. AZ has a ton of members from Georgia. Johnnyt

I've heard there was a great exhibition match between Jeanette and Johnny. Jeanette broke at hill-hill, made nothing, and Johnny made a great runout for the victory. I heard the turnout was good; but it was evidently VERY smoky inside.

Has anything of note changed in that place since the turnover?

I'm moving back to Atlanta (where I grew up) in a few weeks, and that spot is pretty much the closest good room to where I'll be living, so I imagine it'll be my regular haunt...

Man I'm gonna miss my smoke-free pool rooms here in Colorado :(

(Note: this is not intended to start that whole flame war up again, it's just a personal observation :D)

John,
How would you match up with Bruce during the time you are in Atlanta? Keep in mind he plays about once every month, never practices, and drinks nightly. Let me know. I'm looking to Gambooooll and I know you know how to do that.

They arent computer guys, so thats probably they didnt make a post, I should have asked them if it was cool to, i knew about it a couple weeks ago, i'll ask them if its cool to make posts about upcomming events there on their behalf, I dont put business in the street with out permission.

They are going to be making some changes there, more league's, tables, big tournments etc. Kim knows how to run a pool room he owned a piece of a pool room on Modesto for years. They have only had the room for about 6-8 weeks, so they are building a staff, putting systems in place etc. whitch in any business takes time. Both Johnnie and Kim are 100% commited to make it one of the top pool rooms in America, with their names and experience etc it will be. I could go on but its not my business to put their plans in the street, however I have known both of them for over 20 years, I know Kim better than Johnnie, and this is what they both told me, my post isnt second hand info-they told me their plans and more, I just dont feel comfortable making it public.

With out a doubt over the next year you'll see great improvements there, their dedication is 100%. I could tell by talking to them, i'm businessman and they are too, but it takes along time to grow/change a business as well as $$$. They arnt going to make any reckless moves, they will have one of the finest pool rooms in America bar none, and there couldnt be 2 better guys making it happen.

I wish it was non smoking too, but it is better than Cue's just cause it has high ceilings. I thought about suggesting they make it smoke free till about 6pm on the weekends. Right now, with the laws in GA no one under 18 can enter, as long as they allow smoking... this way teens and familys could play on the weekends. I think it would be a good business move and allow the room to air out a bit...

The room has great potential, it has gotten a bit run down though (esp the woman's bathrooms, so gross) I really hope they fix that.

There are some great tournaments on the weekends so you should get a lot of opps to play. Welcome home ;)!

any complaints or complements posted in this thread i'll mention directly to them, I'm planning a trip there in the middle or end of Sept. I talk to them on the phone often, so any input is great, it will be a while until everything is finished they have to recover from buying the spot, I'm in the middle of a similar project but its not open for business yet, i just keep feeding it $$$ but when its ready it will be a great venue for lots of different things, so I understand their situation and give them the time it will be great.

sure was hot

I don't think they are using the AC in the right way .I even
noticed Jeanette was contiually wiping sweat off her head .
I've been playing there for over 2yrs and it did not used to
be that hot in the summer time .I know AC is a big bill for
business , I used to have a store front for my shop .I found
that if I kept people comfortable they got more work done
and we made more money to cover the big bills of being in
business .Just my two cents on that ......I did have a good time
and it was a good race to 5 with Johnny and Jeanette :D
Maybe it's just me or maybe they are trying to sell more
booze .Who knows ?

Don't forget it has been around 100 degrees in Georgia for the past week or so. Put that together with a lot more people than usual in the room and it was probably just a little too much for their AC system. Johnnyt

That would be a great match to watch. Im not sure Bruce could give him any weight though.
