Mason Cues

Guerra Cues

I build one cue at a time
Silver Member
Hello guys,
I was able to "steal" a Mason from my friend Ted "cuesblues" an amazing pau ferro nose and brazilian rosewood handle cue.
I have hit with many cues in my life (except BB, Gina, Scruggs, etc) but also tried some really nice cues like SW, Kersenbrock, Cantando, Manzino, etc and this Mason just hits awesome. It is the best hitting cue I ever hit with.
The main thing to be recognized on a cue maker is not only is hours of work on a lathe, it is the playability of his cues. All my current cues are in the case now and the Mason will be my main player.
The Mason I am referring to is the one on the bottom of the picture.
Way to go Mason :ok:

thanks Tony.that was the best piece of Brazilian in the shop period and probably the best i have seen.i went through 10-20 pieces for that one.it was only 14" long so i had to use it for a handle instead of a cue.glad you like the cue.

In fact I am going to hit a few more balls in my pool table before I go to dinner.
Awesome hitting cue Mason.

Congrats to ya man. The cue looks awesome. And Ted (cuesblues) is one of the best Azers on this site bar none. Jeff

Nice work Mason.

Thanks Don.
I do feel that Mason was conquered his space has a cuemaker, now all he needs is to do is make it stable and consistent.

Thanks

Thanks for the nice comments Jeff.

I'm glad Tony likes the cue.
It took me a while to make the deal, but we're both happy and he is a very good guy to deal with.

My Internet has been down so this is the first time I've been on AZ for a few days.
I should have called DSL before spending 3-days trying to fix it myself.

I'm really glad you like the cue.
I knew you would, and it has everything you like in a cue.

Sorry it took me three weeks to make a decision, it was a grueling negotiation.
I had no intentions of trading it, but I'm want Mason to know that the cue got into the hands of someone that needed a cue that plays like this one does, and wanted it very badly.
With that said, any bets on how long he keeps it?

I did get a beautiful Cory Barnhart cue in kind, and this trade was just two friends making a deal that we are both happy with.

Hope the knee heals soon so you can start playing more.

Thanks
Ted

I don't think Mason is ready to be crowned just yet, maybe someday. He is very new and has only produced very basic cues to this point. It looks like he has a good start, as most like the way his cues play.
BTW- I do like the looks of his cues.

"Basic cues" ? I don't think putting together the right woods and joint pins, along w/ custom tapers to make a fantastic hitting cue a "Basic cue". I may be biased, as I love merry widow styles!! :) To me, inlays, rings and such are just window dressing, either you can produce a great hitting cue or you don't!! But I wouldn't call a merry widow style cue "Basic", I like the word "Clean" :) Just another opinion!
