Masters green chalk = non sticking to my tip

So I used to use silver cup chalk and loved it. After a lay off from pool I started playing again and all ways see Masters chalk being used so I decided to get a box of green Masters. The problem is that it wont stay on my tip (tiger emerald and le pro) I've also noticed that there is all most all ways
chalk on the table after I shoot and this never happened when I used Silver cup. So my question is, is it just me?? or does the Master's green chalk differ from the Masters blue? Any one else have this problem?
 
I have masters green and find that it does not go on nearly as easily as it does at the pool hall. I don't know if it is the basment humidity (which I do hae a dehumidifier running) or what, but it is definately more solid at home with the green masters than the blue at the pool hall.
 
I have noticed a big difference between the green masters and the blue. The blue is just better in my opinion. It holds better and plays better. ( I wonder if this is why Blue Diamond brand only produces blue chalk?)

As far as silver cup goes I have some and use it on occasion but I have noticed that it is a much finer grain and doesn't hold as well IMHO as the Masters. All that being said if you dont mind the cost or color get the blue diamond and you will never have this conversation again.

BTW Humidity will play a large part in the effectiveness of chalk. If it's too humid or wet it doesn't work well at all. I have even seen people wet their finger and stick it on the chalk to get it wet, hoping their opponent wouldn't notice and causing them to miscue. This is a old shark technique that I watch out for especially if you notice someone using their own chalk and never using the one on the table!:eek:
 
I agree that the Masters blue works better than green. I tried using the green chalk (to be cool) years ago, but went back.
 
Were you going to buy another batch if someone answered "you're crazy, it sticks great for me"? I mean, your only options are buy more or write it off. If you buy more and it works then you still gotta worry that it's not consistent from batch to batch. To me this means you only have one sensible option: get something else. I assume you picked and roughened the tip already.

Personally I hate the brightness of the streaks it leaves behind, same for silver cup.
 
I use Master Green, and I store mine in the garage in Summer, it is REAL DRY IN Arizona. Try scuffing up your Tip aroun the eadges with 220 Sandpaper. I see people mis cueing all the time, when I feel their TIP most of the time they are Smooth.
 
It seems to stick well on my Sniper Tip. However on my back up cue not sure of tip maybe Water Buffalo it doesnt seem to hold as well for some reason..:confused:...Which reminds me I just order 3 Emerald tips...Dam well i have plenty of Masters Blue...

masters green chalk sucks. from what i can tell only the blue/tan is worth a damn.

you should invest in your own chalk man. i've got a box of balabushka chalk that i keep in my case just incase where i'm playing doesn't have anything decent
 
I use Masters gray because it keeps my shafts looking new, even after a year of use. It seems to adhere to the tip fairly well but I do find myself lightly scuffing ( use laminated tips - Everest & Sniper ) tips often. Coming to think about it, if the tip(s) just gets to that slightly shiny stage the chalk barely takes. I'm not sure if this is due to the natural wear of the tip or the poor chalk?
 
I all ways scuff and pick my tip when it need it and even after I just scuff/pick the green stuff wont stay on. Im just gonna switch back to silver cup.
