Matchroom English Open Pool Championship May 2023

There's a Major Nineball Event in Matchroom's 2023 schedule named "English Open Pool Championship". Does anyone have any info whether this is happening or not? Didn't notice this event being mentioned anywhere during the recent World Pool Championship broadcast. Seems a little weird to put on a major UK event just a week or two before their UK Open that they're promoting heavily across the board. I do remember them mentioning that there will be a qualifying event for those who missed out on UK Open tickets but no mention since.

Yes, it's a bit confusing. The event is listed in the schedule as a major, suggesting it has the same level of prestige as the UK Open and the same ranking points available. That said, it's listed as TBC (to be confirmed), so it's hard to know what that means.

Actually, having the English Open close in the schedule to both the World Pool Masters and the UK Open will reduce player participation costs, as there may be three big events in England in the course of four weeks. If the Premier League Pool, which immediately follows the UK Open, is in England, as it was in 2022, even better.

Event producers are doing this more and more and it is to the players' great advantage.

I was checking on when might be a good time to visit the UK and this event seems to have disappeared.
