Personally, I think this Pool Room should be Matchroom's preferred next location in 2024.
There are no better locations/room owners or people in the USA to do business with.
It's a day's drive away max, from almost half of the states in our country.
Most all MR events are on the E. Coast, where co$t$ are Extremely HIGH.

You might have to find a place to put all the buckets that catch rain from the leaky roof. Although it can add excitement to the matches --you can play position and force your opponent to straddle a bucket and get dripped on.

I love the place for what it's worth and hope they bring back some of the bigger tournaments. The recent KC classic was held at side pockets north, as have several other tournaments that might have once been hosted in Olathe.

The buckets would already be in use as toilets.

Just saying.

I can't always be expected to use the parking lot!

(All kidding aside, the employees at shooters are great and they do a good job cleaning the bathrooms. I would encourage anyone to visit as it is a great room. Call ahead days in advance as technically it's a private club and requires membership).

Is there another current room in the heartland that's close to airports/hotels?
Plus the food in the midwest is top notch, and not priced like Atlantic City or Derby City.

I think the closest Matchroom will get to a pool room is to include the prize fund of tournaments at the room in their nine ball ranking. They are doing that for several room tournaments in the US including the one at Jayson Shaw's room.

Matchroom will never, ever produce an event there. To start, the TV production would be impossible.

I'd just like to see an event NOT in a casino.
Those Atlantic City $300 a night weekend rates are unrealistic.
The midwest is close to Diamond and I'm sure there are convention centers in KC.

I think you are still looking at a very hard sell to get Matchroom to produce such an event. I think Miami, Los Angeles or San Francisco will be much higher on their list of possible new cities in the US than KC. They are unlikely to be concerned with increasing the opportunities to play in their events for 680-level US players.

What you are proposing is far more likely to be taken up by the Predator Tour.

I used to shoot league in a place with a leaky roof. I'm down on a shot and mid-stroke a piece of rust larger than a silver dollar lands on the table about a foot in front of the cue ball. It almost seemed as if someone were sharking me.:):)

If Dan's doing this, he's probably realized with MR and Predators involvement, and the dramatic increase in pro play, this would not surprise me.

He and Carrie are the best.
Thx for the Midwest update.
I haven't been there in a couple decades (divorce) is he going to replace allot of those bar tables with 9 footers or?

Bob that makes sense.

But negating the TV/production set up, this room I'd highly recommend having Qualifiers for the pro tour events.
Very few room owners and businesspeople are of this quality.
