Just thought I would let everyone know that Mazin Shooni 2006 National Champion will be at Shooters in Olathe Ks on Saturday April 21st!! He is having a Clinic from 2:00 to 4:00 pm @ $75.00 per person. Then @ 7:30 pm he will be playing a exhibition match with Dave Matlock to 50 points.

Any chance there is someone to stream this? Rumor has it that the match between Shooni and Matlock is for major cash.
Can someone confirm this?

Yes, Dave plays a mean game of 3-cushion...and plays awesome on that table in Olathe, but not in Mazin's class. But one game on that table....? :)
 
I'm not a betting man....BUT....Dave could pull an upset on a table he is comfortable with. What would fair odds be on this one?
 
It's a Gabriels Imperator that will have new Simonis 300 installed. The old Kling that has been in Shooters forever has been moved to the back. Since they will be playing on tournament quality equipment I wouldn't say that Matlock has much of a home table advantage--but he does play extremely well on this table.

I haven't been there in five years. but the table used to be an old cling, which played great. Dave is a very good player probably a .650 player.
Dave is subject to have a very strong game as he hits the ball well. I'm sure it will be an enjoyable game to watch. I wish him the best of luck.

Wasn't aware of the new Gabriel table, that does change things for sure. Thanks for the updated info.
 
I dont know if we will have any streaming or not. Dave isnt real wild about it. But I will ask to see if possible. It will also have new 300 simonis cloth too. I will say this, Dave will be in here practicing for this exhibition. He WONT embarrass himself or anyone else!!

I hope we have a good crown for this! It will be a great match to watch. The Clinic will be top notched!!!!!

The new cloth will change things for Matlock. I'd give him much better odds with the old cloth. New?? Well, it will be interesting. Locals say Matlock rains billiards. Never seen him play.
 
Glad to hear of Shooni vs Matlock exhibited, h@ll with live streaming. I just hope one of our AZer Member will be nice enough to just video this match up and post video to youtube!!!!

DeekaMon and RatF@@Ker have discuss Dave 3C availability. We alway thought a match up like this would find a lot of attention. But I alway thought it should of be Bill Smith vs Dave Matlock in a 3C match. Deekamon thought it should be him and Matlock.

Doug ... you should post a thread about this in the Main Forum to draw more attention.

It will be on the website in the next day or so. This was just confirmed in the last few days.
 
Matlock would prob humiliate me...but to think he is of Mazin's level is just wrong.

There can't be 15 people in the US that 'should' beat Mazin.
 
Black-Balled....I understand what you are saying...and since the game is to 50 pts....that helps Mazin....BUT...don't under-estimate home court advantage...and it is just one game...shite happens...Matlock could very well win this exhibition match!

Dave is indeed a very strong player. When we played years ago I clocked him at around 0.850 for the games we played and that was on the old KLING they had at the time. Is Gary "Cadillac" Seville still around Olathe?

Yes gary comes around here once in a while. He plays golf in the warmer months. He live about 45 min away from here.
