McDermott 2008 Cue of the year for trade

I have a cue with a leather wrap. After about 6 weeks of playing I got used to the leather wrap and now can not stand using a cue with a linen wrap. I was able to use a lighter grip and as a result, I now pocket more balls. Good luck with your sale, but the leather does grow on you. John

You don't happen to be in the san fran bay area by chance? I sold one a great price awhile back. Wish I would have kept it.. I think it's the best looking McD COTY cue made.

Why not just get it wrapped with linen? A white with green spec linen wrap would look excellent on the cue.
But I can understand just wanting a clean looking traditional cue too. Can't go wrong there. Wish I had one to trade you for. G/L with your search.

Good luck with the trad/sale. Just a question though. How can I be new and unchalked but yet you can't get used to it?. So you either tried it out or you didn't. If you didn't you really need to. The leather does grow on you. I too started with a Meucci. And after trying other cues. Gotta say ill use a house cue b4 another Meucci.

I now prefer leather or Lizard. Or plain ol wraplesss. Linen to so slick for me.

I held it in my hands for about 10 seconds and that was it. Maybe some of you guys can just grab a cue and force yourself to a point where you can learn to bond with it. I know what I like and what I don't. Cues are like any other tool in a sport...a baseball bat for baseball players, hockey stick, golf club, etc. Different players pick different qualities for their tools for personal reasons. Doesn't make one any better than the other. I wanted to try a leather-wrap cue since they really seem to have a strong following. But once I got it, I immediately knew it wasn't for me.

For me? Just in holding the cue I could already tell it's not for me. I don't want to play with it for six months and force myself to like it. I would prefer simply to buy what I know I like, and go that route. Doesn't mean leather is bad. I see most of the high end custom cues seem to come with leather...it's just not for me. I guess my previous years of playing make me naturally gravitate towards a linen wrap or just wrapless.

If I couldn't sell this cue then I would of course force myself to get used to it. But Its a matter of personal taste, not of leather-wrap-bigotry. lol I happen to prefer anything but leather. I didn't know this until I held the cue in my hands. I didn't try it out on a table, or even take it out of my living room. Didn't have to.
