what's the trick to getting that sucker off???

The McGripper. Or extremely strong thumbs, try to push it off to the side. there's a lip one the bumper and a groove in the sleeve, maybe 1mm high/deep. All it takes is sufficient force. A piece of cloth and a pair of pliers would be third choice. I have chipped the finish when trying it with a plier though so be careful.

guess my grip isn't what it used to be.:rolleyes: i can't budge it. wish i had my old strap wrench from plumbing days. that would do it
 
Brent my friend if you are having that hard a time getting the buttcap off...I hope you don't need to take the rubber bumper off.:p :D

haha lol. man, that sucker is ON there buddy. i just didn't want to mess it up. i cut my right hand real bad the other day and i have no strenght whatsoever in my left arm. old war injury. so, imagine a half blind, no armed guy trying to do this. that's about what it's like, haha
