mcdermott lucky pool cues

.

I have bought and sold thousands of pool cues and just a couple

months ago I bought a Lucky for $50 and it is the straightest pool cue

I've ever seen in my life.

Now I know what people mean when they say Laser Straight.

I haven't hit a ball with it but I'm sure it plays fine.

A friend got 2 of the cheapest plain-Jane Lucky cues for his home table about 6 or 7 years ago. Many people, kids, beginners & experienced players used them & they're even used to break with. They've seen a lot of play & prolly some mild abuse. New tips, Triangles, once or twice, but no problems from them. I am completely shocked!

Thats what im thinking

Ive had 1000 dollar plus cues before
Dont make a difference other than how it looks

Im an indian not the arrow fella

I can afford to bw wrong for 50 bucks

I enjoy the broomstick look

A couple years ago, I was very tired of pool. I decided that the only way I'd quit playing, is if I sold all my cues. So I did. Then, after about 6 months of not playing, I was in a pawn shop, and saw a cue for sale, that was a McDermott, with a G-Core shaft, and they only wanted $100.00.

So I bought it. It didn't have inlays, it had decals. I knew it was cheap, but since it had the G-core shaft, I figured it was a decent deal, and would hit decent. I wanted to hit it a few times, so I went back to the pool room and hit with it for an hour or so, and it felt good.

That was how I ended up starting to play pool again. Well anyway, Ronnie Alcano was in town, with Roberto Gomez and Jeffrey Deluna. They were playing pool at the pool room I was at. Within about 30 minutes, Alcano walked over and asked if he could look at my McDermott. I said; sure!

After looking at it for about 10 seconds, he said he had the exact cue. I said, no, yours probably has inlays, not decals. He said that his had stickers, not inlays, and it also had the same shaft. I thought; this can't be!

I said that his cue must hit a lot different than mine. He asked if he could hit it a few times. Certainly, I said, have a blast! He hit about 5 shots with it, that were great STROKE shots. Not only did he make the balls he shot at, but he made the ball back up and go three or four rails, with lots of English.

He then smiled, handed the cue back to me, and said; "It hits the same as mine!"

Cool! :thumbup::thumbup:

The kid I taught just won some trophy for some amateur league thing.

Anyway, I gave him a Joss when he got started. Deal was he can't sell it. If he needs money I will buy it from him. If he gives up the game he will give it back to me.

Occasionally when he is "off" and frustrated I will take his cue to "see if it is working right". I'll run a few balls, makes some big draw strokes and such, hand it back to him and say "Yup, works just fine, like mine."

LOL!

Decals or inlays don't matter.

My second favorite cue is the very plain McDermott Hustler aka M11B. This is the original last made about ten years ago. McDermott doesn't get much respect here. Too bad.

This cue is a very "sneaky pete" I keep looking for another in mint or NOS.

Nobody says anything negative about McDermott cues0, just the imports.
Some of the new imports are pretty good cues
Merry Christmas
