I had a butt that once had a fiberglass shaft on it. The shaft sucked but I had always liked the butt. It has a SS 3/8 x 10 pin on it. I ordered a McDermott shaft for it. When I received the shaft I noticed that the threaded hole that receives the pin is wood all the way down. Is it normal for a SS pin to thread into a wood hole? Will the pin compromise the life of the shaft? I hate to seem dumb here but I've always heard that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Any thoughts or experiences to relate?
