neat old cue....we were shorter back then
This is the tip end of an old cue I just picked up (double wedge butt).

I also recently had a couple more like this that dated to the late 1800s to 1900. Both those cues had 15mm tips with no ferrule......but my gosh, this one is well over 16mm !! Perplexing woods, too. Maybe it will remain a conundrum.

Tip measurement should be from the side, not top down. I see gaps, which means you're both exaggerating your tip size... typical. lol.
