The name 'Willy' comes to mind from about 4 million posts ago.
But Lock N Load is good enough for me.
Your given name was a gift from your parents....
...your pool hall name was earned.

What does come through on the videos and posts is Lock's enthusiasm
and general good will towards his fellow man...with out being a push-over.

Lock reminds me a bit of an old-time snooker champion, Fred Davis.....
...sunny disposition, liked by all.....but he'd snooker you 5 times and then
run a hundred on you...and make you like it.

Enjoyed the interviews with Lock. Got several chuckles but particularly liked Lock's definition of a tie score. ;)
 
Not gonna lie, I've always lurked from a distance on Lock's posts. I mean he's almost tooooo nice. Has to be a catch, right? Nope. He just seems like a great guy.

What put me over the top is the last story about Monroe Jones. Monroe is here in Arkansas now and plays in our statewide league (APPA). I've watched him several times and he's no slouch by any means. I got a chance to spend about an hour with him a few months ago. Just trying to absorb any tidbits he threw out there. He's just a wealth of knowledge. Plus, he learned a lot from the legend, Vernon Elliott. A guy I've heard of, but sadly never met.

If Lock can play Monroe Jones even......he's a pool player in my book.

Hey Fathomblue,
Monroe is a great player. I played him in Johnny Archer's pool hall in Marietta, GA. The Billiards club. He was giving everybody the 6 ball and blowing them out the door on empty. He had Cowboy with him and another good player that I had a tie race with, he beat a friend of mine into a coma. And then long came Lock N Load, man why did you beat my boy! Well he must not be a good player then he responded. I said try me, and he did thus the tie race to 7 games, 7 wins for me and 7 loses for him. That sounds even tie to me. And then long came Monroe who by the way is a friend of mine. We race to 4 games and that score was another tie. 4 wins for me and 4 loses for Mr. Monroe. I apologized for the one sided finish and we talked a bit, and he left. I figure I got lucky!

Terrific videos, old school. Growing older sucks but we do have some awesome memories. Thanks for sharing them.
