I agree. If a paid area goes ahead, and the result is a lower membership or participation, then Mikes advertising revenues go down. Advertising rates are moderated by viewers, the bigger the draw the higher the rate. So I'll bet that Mike will be very careful about going in that direction. Speaking of our esteemed host AZHousePro, what do YOU think of this idea ?

I don't see how you could make it any different than the free forum. Many people who cause the grief on the open forum have an extra $5 or $10 per month to screw up the Members only Section.

If I am paying for it, I would expect not to be sensored. I would also expect then the section to become a free for all with flame wars left and right.

First, What is a vChip or did you mean vCash? I'm not familiar with a vChip on AZ.

I don't like the idea of a paid forum and this is just my opinion. The suggested benefits that you listed don't warrant me paying to participate on a forum. There could be some merit to it and I won't say I wouldn't change my mind about paying for the right set up.
