The funeral was yesterday. I went with Tang. The mortuary was full with Chuck's family and friends. His son Mike asked me to speak briefly, which I did. I told all his extended family how much Chuck had meant to the pool world on the West Coast. How we put on the biggest and best tournaments ever held out here. And what a good guy Chuck was to all the pool players, whether he knew them or not.
Chuck was a true Christian. He didn't talk about it, he lived it. He put a hand out to help anyone he met. If they needed a meal, he fed them. If they needed a bed to sleep, he invited them to his home. If they were short on money, he gave them a few dollars.
Chuck's son Mike continues to run Hard Times Sacramento. He is a fine young man and I'm proud to know him.
