Anytime Earl comes up ,I will never forget when Johnny Archer(Great Player in his own right) was ask ,
Who is the straightest shooter you have ever seen and without hesitation he said Earl Strickland.
PS I have witnessed many times Earl run many balls and being a 14.1 fan it is a pleasure to watch IMHO !

hi ! speaking about Archer and Earl , check out this vid after 5'33'', what for a fun and what for a good laugh they have together :

I got to meet earl last night in albany. Also met allison fisher for the second time and took a lesson with her. She was, of course, extremely nice. Earl is misunderstood and misrepresented by a lot of people. He is very, very nice, completely approachable, and funny as hell! He let me check out his cue and all the doodads on it, was asking about my french fries, and definitely "picked" me in the crowd to frequently walk over to and complain about the table, joke around etc. It was a pleasure to chat with him, and get beat by him twice:cool:. He has a very interesting style/stroke when you see him up close. He doesnt grip the cue at all, he cups it. His thumb and pointer finger appear to not even form a loop around the cue. He also twists his wrist upon delivery. It can be seen in some of the videos, as he was directly in front of me. I brought an old, retired cue with me and had allison and earl sign it so I can hang it on the wall.
Just curious what kind of event or show this was?

I was at the Cap Center and watched you play him once skiergd011013, and he did come over to talk with you more than a few times. You played well in the games with Earl that I saw. I lost to him in both games that I played against him too. Hanging around and watching and talking a bit with him was fun, my first time doing that. He said all the extensions were because of him using a carbon fiber shaft, he said he can't play with it at 58", it doesn't feel right.
PS: I'm the guy with the white beard if you remember.

I knew there had to be some azb members there. I only recall seeing one person get a rack on earl. Then Earl came up to me and said something along the lines of "anyone can beat anyone once", and i said to earl "thats right, try beating you in a race to 10!".

I was using my old, mcdermott cue, because i didnt know what the parking garage would be like etc and didnt want to bring my new valuable stuff. I hate to admit it, but i swear that old mcdermott g-core shaft feels better than my new cf shaft. Im having a cuemaker in albany change the threads on the gcore so i can put it on my new cue and use it, and compare the two on the same cue butt.

Also want to say, that lady that was handling the money/matches for earl was one of the nicest I have ever met. She was so pleasant.
