Meucci $3995.00

Quality

Mostly from people who are old is where the dislike is from. In the 80's and early 90's meucci cues were pretty popular. Quality was pretty good, other than ferrules which tended to chip over time. Cues played well. Then they went to the bigger logo, and shortly after that the quality started going down hill. That lasted for a number of years.

I do think Bob has gotten more involved again, and seems that quality is rising again.

2006 Meucci 6 months after buying it new, 1of 3 meucci cues bought at the same time.
All 3 cues did the same thing

Well Meucci did just make a new cue for Loree Jon with diamonds in it and

valued at $8,000. Pictures are on Facebook.

I love my Meucci cues..........:)

I can see that.
Put $9000 worth of diamonds in a Meucci and you have an $8000 cue.

More like $4000
The secondary market on used diamonds is worse than used pool cues, and since they
are inlaid into a Meucci, they could deduct for the labor cost to remove them.
When you start removing diamonds from a Meucci you never know what other problems you might get in to.

i have purchased 4 meuccis over the last 10 years " all used " and have had no quality issues so far. i have seen a few friends with meuccis and only one has a quality issue " raised rings " . raised rings is a misnomer. metal rings do not raise...the wood around them shrinks.

it is accurate that meucci has had quality issues for a while and have heard bob is addressing them. quality issues arise when you have mass production...seems like very few workers take pride in their craftsmanship any more.

speaking of quality issues. i was browsing the web earlier and found these stats interesting.

for the 2nd year in a row toyata/lexus/scion has led all manufacturers with the highest amount of recalls. 5.3 million vehicles in 2014

chrysler was 2nd with 4.7 million

honda / acura was 3rd with 2.8 million

even harley davidson which touts " made in america by american workers " is not immune to quality issues.

figures for 2014 alone.

60,000 recalled for brakes locking up unexpectedly
105,000 for clutch issues
1,384 for leaking fuel tanks.

Even considering the difference in moving parts of a vehicle vs. pool cue, I've still
had more quality issues with 4 new Meucci's, than I've had with 30 new cars.
The Meucci's were purchased when Meucci was apparently having quality issues,
especially with the black dot shafts.
Meucci replaced the shafts, but ferrules still fell off, the shafts were not very straight,
and people were not happy.

I understand that Meucci has produced some decent cues that do not have issues,
but based on the quality I see, it's surprising that they sell as many cues as they do.
It must be that most people who purchase a new Meucci online for $600, isn't going
to worry about the finish cracking, or rings popping, and joint systems falling apart.
If a ferrule pops off after first shot, you just glue it back on, no biggie>>

Never had any of the above quality issues with my Chinese made 6 year old Lucasi.
And it was only $250.

I've had over 150 that I've bought and sold (mainly Originals) and the overwhelming thing I notice is the old Originals were made out of WOOD and were better. The newer cues have been a complete let down and the plastic has been there slow and painful demise.

It's sad as I grew up playing with them in the. 90's and 00's.

Play Well!
