Meucci 84-6

Hey all...newe to the forums. I have an 84-6 that I was wanting to sell. I have been keeping it for years and not using it because the butt is cracked. I was thinking about selling it but have figured since the butt was cracked it may not be worth anything. I will try and post a picture tomorrow...but essentially it is craked 360 degrees about 2" from the bottom below the name "Meucci Originals". The full piece is there but I dare not mess with it as I think the piece might come off.

Is this cue a lost cause? If so I need to just get rid of it.

You still have a good pool cue.

Sounds like it is just the butt cap that is cracked. I'd suggest that you post your question again in the "Ask the Cuemaker" forum, with close-up pictures, and you'll get some good advice on whether to replace or repair the butt cap.
 
there are 2 experts who can fix you up if that's what you would like.

or, if you want to sell the cue, post pics here and what you want for it and if the price is attractive, it will likely sell as there's a good demand for Meucci Originals.

The shaft is straight (as far I can tell)...I put it together and rolled it on the counter. If there is some better way to describe it let me know.

You can see the black line on the butt of the cue...that is the crack.

In the end I think I would rather sell it as is versus repair it and sell it. I realize I might get more for it by doing that but to honest...I don't really want to mess with it.

I will take a reasonable offer for it.
 
I am being told that $100 is reasonable. Is that true? I don't want to overcharge but I also don't want to get taken myself... I am looking for fair.
 
based on the PM suggestions I received on this post...I will be putting the cue on ebay. Thank you for all your interest and it willbe a 7 day auction starting today.
 
Yeah, this cue is worth way more than $100 bucks. Those are straight up "low ball" offers. You will do well on eBay.

Meucci Cues

Hello, how are you doing. I am also new to this forum but not new to this sport. Basically, this sport is played with full dedication and passion. The people who are a pro at this want the best of the best cues. So, i don't think that any individual is going to buy the cue. But surely it's not a lost cause as it can get repaired or you can give it to cue makers who take the second hand cues and repair and give it an original look. Which serve to the needs of all i.e you will get the return on investment of the cue, the cue maker will get business and any random pool sport lover will get somewhat a new Meucci 84-6.

What ???? Believe me....someone will buy that cue.
 
Good luck with your sale...I'm no fan of Meucci cues, but believe me there are many who are, especially older models like this one. You'll sell it quick and for decent money, too, likely $300-$400, maybe more? Cracked butt cap is no big deal, there are lots of places that will fix that quick, easy and not for a lot of money. Some guys actually specialize in fixing Meucci and other company-unique butt caps.

I agree. This cue has the old "pill" style bumper; meaning an "original" original (if that makes any sense). You should do well with this cue on eBay. I'm guessing around the $300 mark, possibly more.
