Any one ever used one? how do they play compared to a z or 314 or any other LD shaft
I watched some of the videos on them but want to hear what others think.

I have one on my PP1.
Long taper and very whippy. Takes some time to get used to.
Give the side of the shaft a light tap with your hand the the shaft resonates like a tuning fork. If you're not into whippy, its not for you.
I also use a Z and 314. The Black Dot can pot balls just as well as either of the 2.
I carry the PP1 in my case as a spare and bring it out once in a while.
For some reason, I use it for 9 ball on a 9 foot table but don't really prefer using it on a 7 or 8 foot.

The only Meucci I remember liking the hit of had a black dot shaft. It felt way more lively than the Predators, about like the OB shafts but for me had more accuracy than the OB.
Apparently....most of the people on here know very little about the Black Dot Meucci shaft. Greyghost says he does not trust Black Dot to stay straight.....really ? Check out Bob Meucci's machine testing of the Black Dot shaft versus other shafts....it blows them all away. He tests a variety of cues Including Predator who first developed low deflection cues....and even Predator's deflection rate improved dramatically when a black dot shaft was screwed on. Bob Meucci even took a broom stick....inserted a pin and screwed it onto a black dot shaft and still outperformed every other cue tested including Predator. So...if you what the best low deflection shaft on the market....it's a no brainer. Go with a Black Dot shaft and a Meucci Power Piston butt which also improves the performance of your shaft !i'll give them that they hit just fine, but i just wouldn't trust it to stay straight by any means....thats just my experience tho. I think the quality of the other LD aftermarket shafts is much higher than the black dot....by leaps and bounds.
flat lamination should also be more prone to warping, which is probably why you almost never see an old black dot that isn't warpedIf you shoot with a meucci, they recommend you shoot with the 'black dot' logo to be facing up. What that means (even though have said it doesn't matter) is that the cue lacks radial consistency. So the whippy deflection rate will vary with respect to whether the laminates are layered horizontally, or whether you are shooting with the laminates vertically. But yeah, if you want a whippy cue, meucci is for you.

Flat lam. shouldn't be more prone to warping IF the wood used was of good quality and the gluing/curing process was done right. I think the BD's that have warped were rushed thru production.flat lamination should also be more prone to warping, which is probably why you almost never see an old black dot that isn't warped
