Meucci Carbon Pro

I recently purchased a Meucci Carbon Pro 30" at 12.25. I noticed the diameter at the ferrule is more like 12.04. I have high end accurate calipers. I was wondering what you all have experienced with Meucci's standards for diameters. Maybe it's because it's 30". An 3/4 inch below the ferrule reads at 12.25.
Do any of you all have the 12.25 you could measure at the ferrule? I'd be curious to compare.
They did a great job with the artistry/inlays.

Meucci has no standards.
Sub par cue company for years.

Since Predator first came out with the Revo in 11.8mm, I miked three of them and they all measured 12mm. To this day I have yet to find a true 11.8mm Revo.

I have had a few Meucci CF Pros. Their gen1 had a very slight conical (aka modified pro?) taper that I liked - my 12.5mm was actually more like 12.3 at tip and rose to 12.5 at around 10 inches, averaging more like 12.4mm. The gen2’s I’ve had were pretty true 12.5mm through the entire 15” pro taper. All were 12.5mm 30” shafts and played good but I had problems getting proper 3/8-10 modified threads from them and ended up in a customer service nightmare. If yours gets to 12.25mm only 3/4” down from ferrule and stays close to that for the entire pro taper - that sounds pretty in spec for a 12.25 to me.

Hard to believe you got all that gorgeous custom ring work and kept that hideous giant Meucci logo on there. They will remove that if you ask them. Personally I can’t stand huge vendor logos of any kind, but the huge Meucci cursive thing is the worst. But then again I put black duct tape on my Predator Air 2 jump cue to cover up their nonsense huge logos and beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.

Good luck

Yes, I think your explanation of the diameters is spot on. I've gotten about 6 hours with the shaft. The feel of the shaft is fantastic and I am very happy with the diameter. I also have the Pro shaft at a 12.5. It measures +/- .05 at the ferrule, drops down to 12.25 below and then begins to taper back out to 12.5. I'vs actually noticed that same occurrence with my other wooden shafts. No problem and both play great.
I'm still amazed at how good the CF Pro feels. It's crisp and still has that carbon fiber sound but doesn't have the hollow 'tink' that I know the Revo shafts have. However, sound aside, I don't know how the Revo's feel.

I enjoy writing calligraphy/cursive and think that the logo looks great. It is definitely very big though. I think it would look better if it were smaller and more centered. Overall though I like it. It saves me explaining who makes the shaft when someone asks, they can just see it. Also, I use it to aim, making sure it's faced up before each shot. Kind of became a pre shot routine when I had the black dot shaft.

I have purchased several Meucci cues and shafts in the past three months. All have been spot on with regards to specs, both weights and diameters. My 97-21b with 12.25 CF is superb. I also have two Revo's and a McDeromott Defy and the Meucci's are much bettter, IMHO.
