Meucci fans... Archives are back!!

They lost theirs. when trying to shift them to their updated site a while back poof, gone. They told me they tried but whoever hosted their site dogged it.
OMG. That's insane! Data loss I'd gut wrenching.

20 years ago when I was VPIT and network sysadmin we almost lost all the data for a title and mortgage company, including offsite backups. This was in spite of multiple redundancies on site and off site. A firmware error in the SCSI mirrors corrupted huge blocks of data.

We discovered it on Friday evening and worked until Monday morning to rebuild the databases. It worked. We were yp and running by 9am Minday. It was as intense as some of the most hair-raising surgery I had been involved with. Tens of millions of dollars were at stake.

I have a few images from the Joss archive. Wish I had saved them all.

Very off topic, and I understand that you probably do not even have the time to watch TV shows, but there is this great show called, Halt and Catch Fire, about computers in the 80's.

Anyways, your post reminded me of this part in the series where this Programmer, who wrote Code, makes a huge error, and loses all of the Code that she worked on for weeks, and she did not do a back up of any of it, lol. Or, she somehow fried all of her back ups. Anyways, her job was to write the code for a new computer that was going to compete with the IBM.

Who could forget the Howard series

The old Meucci cues are magical and had a mystique about them. You can make the whitey dance around the table with ease.

Put a Meucci up against a Predator and this generation will find out why.

Till then, it will be us, old timers' little secret.
HUH??? you're so off base here its a joke. Nothing 'mystical or magical' about ANY cues. The old M's were well made and did the job. Nothing more. Just like any good cue. They had their rough times but new ownership has brought the name back.

Tried some Meucci today, and it brings back Nostalgia feelings vs Predator/Lucasi. The feelings of being engaged, falling back in love with every shots.

The Lucasi was not bad, it could manipulate the Cueball very well. But the Meucci has something else to it. You feel everything behind it and you are very connected/committed to the shot.

Predator are all for center ball and straight strokes players. Everytime you try applying side spin and you feel that it would fought against your movements

C'mon Czar, "they made whitey dance", I suspect todays pro's are still using those old Moochies and just spray painting them black to make everyone think they are carbon. Heavens to Betsy, oh the trickery!!!!

Love 'em or hate 'em Meucci Pool Cues, and Bob Meucci, have a lot to do with the advancements made in pool over the last 50 years.
I always loved the artistry and design and even the craftsmanship but I first started playing pool seriously in the hey day of MEucci and could never get past the finish over the irish linen. Maybe if he would've used an epoxy resin and then turned it smooth, but that bumpy finish that it had over the irish linen wrap always left a bad taste in my mouth.

Looks like you do not understand low deflection shafts or know how to use them.
It’s OK to be used to something else, but what you wrote about Predator is simply rubbish
