i have an original meucii which i believe is the OL-1. i have owned this cue since the mid 80's. it has been stored in a case for years. this cue is unlike anything i have seen in any pictures, or on the web (after 5 days of searching). it is black linen wrap, sealed, 4 points, MOP inlays, green and red veneers in the points. pre dot shaft, wood on wood joint. the difference in this cue is that the wood between the wrap and the joint is a grey type of stained birdseye maple, not your usual blond type of wood in that area. this cue is straight, and i would venture to say, near perfect to perfect condition, no gouges, nicks or dents that i have been able to find. some blueing to the shaft from play. unkown weight.
i will post pictures tomorrow.
my question is where the asking price range is on this cue, i am reading this is a wanted cue, and i have had a hard time nailing down a price to ask for it.
any help will be appreciated, as i am going to sell it, using the info gained from you.
thanks

Is this the OL-1 you have??

I bought a OL-1 on ebay several months ago for $500 and spent another $200 refinishing it by Proficient. In very good condition with original shaft, I think about $500 is a good price. The BEM in the forearm has a dark chestnut stain. Actually I like a more natural finish (no stain) but Scott at Proficient stained the BEM to original condition.

here are some pics i have taken of the cue.

More than likely the smoked stain is from the owner before you had gotten it refinished and chose to have that color stain instead of the natural. But still worth the same money if for sale. $500 tops. Beautiful cue though. Brian G.

Nice find Brian.
I do like the OL 1 but I'm a sucker for notched diamonds.
My main player is a PP1 with a Black Dot. I know theres a few that don't like the Meucci cues but once you get used to the taper of the Black Dot, it will be a great shooter for you.

thank you everyone so far. the cue has been stored for many years, and i would like to see someone enjoy it, as i don't have time to play anymore. i doubt the cue was refinished since i obtained it in the mid 80's, and i'm thinking that would have been to new/early to have a cue refinished. it is a gorgeous cue, and spent the 80's and early 90's playing great.
now i just have to see if the want is out there for this cue, and where to put it up for sale... here, or go the auction route.
