NO. they are a distributor in Colorado. they do have a few lines of product made for them in various asian factories.Thank you, Yes, Are they Japanese and do they have a factory in China ? Guy
Amazing what a cue can do!My first good cure was a H-14 I got in 83 ...
Merely suggested they could have bought the "Meucci" brand or line of cues.they've never had anything to do with meucci. they don't make just distribute.
Hopefully it's not a foreign interest who will simply start cranking out production line crap by the thousands.I usually wait til i've heard something a few times before asking so here it goes: has Meucci cue co. been sold?? Heard it enough times now that i think asking in a forum like ours is ok.
I've got a bridge I'll sell ya?!? Or was it something about suckers?? Lol.What did P T Barnum say?![]()
former employee bought it. new website and from what i hear waaaaay better cs.Hopefully it's not a foreign interest who will simply start cranking out production line crap by the thousands.
If you played one pocket or straight pool, those implex originals had a softer hit and excellent feedback. You could load em up if necessary. Let's not forget, one of Louie's faves was a Meucci. RIp my friend. They were the best when I bought mine in '89. I still have both of them.
The joint has little-to-no influence on hit. This has been proven in blind tests. Bob thought it compressed more giving you more power. I've played for over 40 years and idk about compression and power, but you can't tell me an implex doesn't have a softer hit than a stainless or chrome joint. I can't help it if blind test subjects were dummies. Lol.The joint has little-to-no influence on hit. This has been proven in blind tests. Bob thought it compressed more giving you more power. When they did the test yrs ago on the Tex.Express Tour very few could tell what the joint was. Its the shaft size, taper, ferrule, tip that you feel. Joint itself has little or no effect on feel. There was one Meucci staff player that was really surprised when they uncovered the cue he liked best: a 5/16x14 steel joint. Similar results for almost all involved. What you feel at impact is not dictated by the joint. I've hit SW's that were stiff as hell and pingy, stuff i always thought only steel felt like. I'll take any bet on that, and probly wind up eating my foot, but I'd like to think I could tell which was which by sound and feedback in the cue itself.
Implex doesn't give that crisp solid pop, for want of a better word, of a Joss or Schon or any other better class metal jointed cue.
I chose metal over implex long ago bcuz of this very fact. I'm a nine ball and straight pool player. Implex just didn't have the solid strike I like. Otherwise, I'd be playing w one now. I bet I get drug thru the coals on this one!!! Lol.
I'm just regurgitating what the prof told and showed me way back in the 70s. He had both implex and steel joints on the table. Hit what I thot were hard stop shots, full table power draws, and extreme high English shots with both implex and steel and after about 30 mins, I got it. Understood the point he was trying to make. When they did the test yrs ago on the Tex.Express Tour very few could tell what the joint was. Its the shaft size, taper, ferrule, tip that you feel. Old 'pool wives tales' are sometimes hard to kill. I used to think certain joints only had certain feels but turns out not to be the case. We used to think that Moochies drew better because they flexed more. Again, total bs. The ferrule and tip have more to do with the feel than just about anything. always learning knew stuff. BTW, i just got a Rhino cf shaft and i'm 100% convinced it has magical properties.I'm just regurgitating what the prof told and showed me way back in the 70s. The implex cues had a softer, smoother-type hit and feel about them than the steel.
Perhaps my stroke wasn't good enough at the time to appreciate the subtleties of an implex, but he swore by this and I felt it. You may be correct about ferrule, tip and all that, I'll give you that. I must also admit that this wasn't a test and I've been wrong more than right in my lifetime. Lol.
He was obviously knowledgeable about the subject and put on a demo to try and teach a blockhead like me what the diff was.
That being said, I've been told my pocketing speed is firm. This game has been good to me. Paid for my house and put both daughters thru college, so if an implex would have given me an advantage, Id've surely been hitting w one. I prefer the solid crisp hit and response given by steel jointed cues over implex.
Old dawgs and new tricks, I'm open to learning new things and do every day, so I'll check out the link you posted and see if I've been deluding myself for decades. (Me and many others who swear by this.) I'm hoping the older one hole guys will chime in and help me out w the softer hit thing. C'mon fellas!! Now's your chance!!![]()
I'm waiting for my rhino as we speak!! Can't beat the deal and I want to know how one of these Joss will hit w a 30" carbon on it!!Old 'pool wives tales' are sometimes hard to kill. Only prob is the postal service has me in limbo. Package left the hub 6 days ago and they're telling me it's in transit but delivery will be late.
Same update every day. Rhino sent it 2 weeks ago!!
Sure hope it didn't get lost in the shuffle of Xmas packages and is sitting in the corner somewhere only to be found around valentine's day by the janitor!!![]()
