anyone know offhand what they used??
i've got 4 holes epoxied over under the wrap
just wondering if it's justifiable to get those out to try to reduce the weight as much as possible as customer requested
the difference between the 4 weights and 4 3/8x1.24 dowels inserted into the holes= is it worth it??? prolly gain 1/2 to 3/4 oz at the most???

I've run into this on Qs made in the late 80s & 90s. The 1st time I saw those screws I culdn't believe it. Now, that's bad Qmaking...JER

I had to replace an under wrap on Jim Rempe model 1 Meucci around six months ago. It had the same thing going on, I cut up the old under wrap and inside they threaded metal dowels. There were a total of three dowels evenly spaced in the under wrap.

By the way, that Rempe cue was from around 1984, so I suppose they have been doing it for a long time.

This really is some pretty shitty cue making, no doubt about it!!!!

without tearing into it, i'm just guessing that they are 3/8x16 weights like atlas sells. i think they are .25 oz each. so, they added approx 1 oz, besides the original weight bolt that cue owner still has. not sure how long or the weight of it. just seems to me that a longer bolt would have accomplished the same thing. by the way, these four weights are at the back end of handle. this being an "original" makes it pre 1986 , right???

They were still selling Meucci Originals until late 1989 or very early 1990, they then switched to the current logo!!!!
